Spanish-ish Names?

So my kids are [name]Ana[/name], [name]Elena[/name], [name]Isabel[/name], [name]Sebastian[/name], and [name]Nicolas[/name]. ([name]Ana[/name] [name]Maria[/name], [name]Elena[/name] [name]Marie[/name], [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Grace[/name], [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Jack[/name], [name]Nicolas[/name] [name]Orlando[/name].)

If I have another girl it will more than likely be [name]Luisa[/name] or [name]Louisa[/name]. My only hang-up with [name]Louisa[/name] is that I like the spelling [name]Louisa[/name] more but it bugs me that the rest of my kids have the Spanish spelling, so I think [name]Luisa[/name] would work better with the siblings.

I also like [name]Lydia[/name] as a possible runner-up. [name]Sofia[/name] was going to be the name of choice till it became so popular ([name]Isabel[/name] bugs me sometimes because of how popular it is) but now I’m going more and more back to it because, well, I still like it.

I was set on [name]Oliver[/name] when I had [name]Nicolas[/name], but my husband won that one, but he promised I could have [name]Oliver[/name] next. [name]Nicolas[/name] is not my favorite name. But then my family calls him [name]Orlando[/name] or [name]Lando[/name] (his middle name–after my father-in-law), because they think that’s cooler. And even my husband calls him Landito sometimes. Anyway, point being is I LOVED [name]Oliver[/name], but now, I’m not so sure.

Recently I fell in love with [name]Lorenzo[/name] even more than [name]Oliver[/name], but then I found out Snooki named her son [name]Lorenzo[/name] and that killed it for me. But I still sigh secretly love it. My sister insists I should go with [name]Fernando[/name]. I don’t know about that. I liked [name]Lorenzo[/name] much better. [name]Cristobal[/name] was another option but my husband doesn’t especially care for it. Oh, [name]Ruben[/name] is his favorite boy’s name, and I like it, but I would just prefer a 3-syllable one, and I don’t think it quite has the same feel as the rest of their names.

Anyway, I just wanted some ideas both girl and boy as we don’t know the gender yet. Oh, and I really prefer 3-syllable names. (My daughter [name]Ana[/name] is adopted and was already named.) My husband is from South [name]America[/name], while I’m Canadian, and our last name is very Spanish/Italian sounding starting with an L. People think my husband is Italian all the time because his name is [name]Leonardo[/name] (he goes by [name]Leo[/name].)

Oh, and [name]Mercedes[/name] is another name I’ve tried to convince my husband to consider.

I think many of my favourite names are Spanish, especially for girls
Girls
[name]Lucinda[/name], [name]Lucilla[/name],
[name]Lucia[/name] - I prefer the Spanish loo-see-ah to the other pronunciations.
[name]Livia[/name]
[name]Leocadia[/name], [name]Liliana[/name]
[name]Mariposa[/name] - This is almost a guilty pleasure but I just really love the imagery.
[name]Rosario[/name]
[name]Amaranta[/name]/[name]Amarantha[/name]
[name]Noemi[/name]
[name]Selena[/name]
Grouped all together because I like all of them and this post is already, I’m sorry, too long: [name]Ramona[/name], [name]Raquel[/name], [name]Reina[/name], [name]Rafaela[/name]

Boys
[name]Joaquin[/name]
[name]Rafael[/name]
[name]Gabriel[/name]
[name]Angel[/name]
[name]Arturo[/name]
[name]Ezekiel[/name]/[name]Ezequiel[/name]

I really like [name]Ramona[/name], I’ve tried to convince my husband to chose that name before and I was shot down. I like [name]Liliana[/name] too. [name]Selena[/name] reminds me of the singer. And [name]Lucinda[/name] is a cousin of mine which leaves the name with strongly negative connotations. And I have a niece [name]Olivia[/name] whom we call [name]Livia[/name]. I’ll have to think about the others.

Oh, I should have mentioned that I was mostly trying to find names that sound equally English as Spanish, with [name]Mercedes[/name] and [name]Fernando[/name] being the exceptions, (although that’s probably why they’re not higher on my list). My family just liked [name]Orlando[/name] so they’re the ones mostly calling him that. Not me.

I think you should us [name]Sofia[/name], if you like it. Popularity shouldn’t bother people the way it does… I never really understood why a people will “throw away” a perfectly good name because it’ “too popular”. But here’s some names, anyway.
