Me and my boyfriend might be expecting… I’m going to be going to the doctors to confirm soon enough! However, I’m trying to think up creative ways I could tell my parents and my friends! This will be an unexpected pregnancy, I was on birth control, though me and my boyfriend have talked about having children a little later on in life. Not what we thought was the perfect timing, but we are happy none the less! I’m not sure how to announce my pregnancy to my loved ones though. I want to be creative, to make sure they all know that we are happy for the unexpected little one. I am worried about how to announce it mostly to my parents. They love my boyfriend, and he’s basically already a part of the family. But as the oldest girl, my dad has had a harder time letting go.
For my friends, I was thinking maybe giving each of them a dried out pea, and telling them that this is the size of my baby right now. I’m opened to more creative idea’s to tell them as well, though!
For my mother, I am thinking of maybe giving her a tee that says “Noni”, as she’s already told me thats what she wants me and my boyfriends future kids / her grand kids to call her. I know she will be absolutely thrilled! I’m also still opened to idea’s here to! <3 This is the best idea I could come up with yet.
But for my father… I have no idea. I don’t want to just give him a “grandpops” tee and expect him to be excited. I know he will be excited after its settled in and he accepts that I’m pregnant, but he will probably be a bit sad at first. I’d really love some idea’s here!! <3 I don’t want to make him uncomfortable by being to blunt or too happy, but I don’t want to make this a sad event.
What do you think? How did you all announce your pregnancies? Or how do you plan to announce your pregnancies once you are? I know I am a little ahead, seeing as I haven’t confirmed it with the doctor. And even when I do, I plan to wait until the first trimester is over to announce it. But I am certainly dreaming up idea’s already!
My sister annouced her current pregnancy at our family reunion by having her daughter wear a t-shirt that said Big [name]Sister[/name]. But, if this is your first that won’t work. I guess you could wear a shirt that said something about being a mom.
Aww, thats cute! I could always wear a tee about being a new mom, that could be fun!
And oh my word, I love that pregnancy announcement! <3 I don’t have any other children to add to the bunch, of course. But I know I could definitely do the “bump ahead” and the shoes and eventually I could do the bow over the bump with that, and I love the him plus me/baby = 3! Idea! <3 Thanks so much!! <3
Find someone to create special Scratchies for you and give them out to your family and friends. They could say something along the lines of “We’re Pregnant!!” and have everyone scratch to reveal at the same time.
I love the T-shirt idea! So cute. Since you’re waiting until the end of your first trimester to tell anyone, you could get a T-shirt made with an ultrasound image on it with “I’m pregnant!!” above it in big letters and the due date underneath.

I once read in a magazine that a woman bought herself a new hoodie, then a pair of tiny overalls to signify the new baby. I thought it was really cute.
I have a couple cousins who are pregnant, but because they don’t like around here, I don’t know if they did it any cute way.
The t-shirt idea would be cute too, or the tiny shoes.

Ahh! I read somewhere about this family that was taking a picture of their family, and instead of telling them to say cheese, they said “Say ___ is pregnant!” so when they snapped the picture they had all of the families first reactions all on film! But I wouldn’t want to do that to my poor dad. Maybe I can do that to my friends or something… <3

You could always put one of those ‘baby on board’ stick ups on your mom or dad’s car when you get in…than they’ll ask you what you’re doing ect ect. The envelope with the pea idea is cute. I announced the gender of my baby by telling my family I would be coming to dinner with my nails done either pink or blue…very glad I didn’t have to find blue nail polish! I showed up in elbow length gloves to drag it out even more! but pregnancy I just announced by screaming, 'I’m pregnant!!"
Aww, a baby on board in their cars would be cute! Oh my word, if I put one in my mothers van without her noticing it would be the best… she would takes ages to find it and once she did she’d be like “whaaat??” :’) When I was a child my dad removed this tree we had in our front yard and my mother didn’t notice it for days until we told her! So that could be a good laugh
And aww, thats such a fun way to announce the gender!!! I saw a cute picture with a box that had a heart and said “Its a…” and then the man and woman were opening the box and pink balloons were coming out for their little girl! Thats still a while from now for me lol, but I think the painting nails would be more plausible for me You care if I steal that?? <3

When my sister was pregnant with her first, I got her some maternity clothes for her birthday. [name]One[/name] of what i got her was this t-shirt: Robot or human?
Maybe you could get it and wear it to announce your pregnancy.
At my pediatrician’s office, there’s a cute [name]Christmas[/name] card/birth announcement that has a photo of the family’s three older children sitting in a row with a fourth chair holding an ultrasound picture on the end. I thought it was adorable! Obviously, you’d have to modify it, of course, since it’s your first…maybe pass around a photo of you and your boyfriend with a chair between you holding an ultrasound pic or a pregnancy test?
But oh, that could work! A pic of me and my bf with an ultrasound pic… I like that as well! Oh my! I was thinking about the Scratchies idea and maybe I could get a pic of that… and turn it into a puzzle? I know a store nearby that does that for a reasonable price… so everyone can put the puzzle together and see it

With my first, our family’s knew that we were going for it (IVF) our friends did not. We waited until we were sure, in fact I had almost started showing and we went to a family picnic. For my family we had bring some food, so we brought all baby foods (baby corn and baby spinach salad) and then on the underside of the bowl, we wrote the person that brought this dish is pregnant.
With baby number 2 we decided to let our daughter announce it. We put her in a shirt that we made that said “my mom went to the ob/gyn and got an ultrsound. All I got was this t-shirt.”
Aww, how sweet! Bunches of “baby” foods :’) I do cook dinner for the family fairly often, so maybe I could do that and see if anyone catches on!
