We have settled on the name seamus but we are going back and forth with the spelling and need some neutral input.
[name_m]Seamus[/name_m] or [name_m]Shamus[/name_m]??

[name_m]Seamus[/name_m] or [name_m]Shamus[/name_m]??
[name_m]Seamus[/name_m]!!!
[name_m]Seamus[/name_m]… No need to mess with a good thing
[name_m]Seamus[/name_m] for sure!!
I like [name_m]Shamus[/name_m]
[name_m]Seamus[/name_m]. I am not big on trying to respell - some people who have never seen the name before will still be confused ([name_m]Shamus[/name_m]? Shaymus?) and people who are familiar with the name [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] now won’t be able to spell it either.
That and “shamus” is just a word for a PI in old '30s detective novels as far as I am concerned.
[name_m]Seamus[/name_m], for sure. It isn’t quite as well known as [name_m]Sean[/name_m], but as soon as you tell someone how to pronounce it, they’re unlikely to forget. [name_m]Shamus[/name_m] reminds me of Shamu the Killer Whale.
Definitely [name_m]Seamus[/name_m]. It’s fairly recognizable but not extremely common(at least where I am), which is a nice feature.
Plus, I don’t get that “[name_u]Shay[/name_u]” sound when I read [name_m]Shamus[/name_m]
[name_m]Seamus[/name_m]. Definitely [name_m]Seamus[/name_m].
[name_m]Seamus[/name_m], this is a case where you don’t need to make it more phonetic to be usable.
Yesssss!!!
When I see [name_m]Shamus[/name_m], I want to say shah-mus, not shay-mus.
