Spelling and pronunciation of many forms of eleanor.........opinions!

Is there a difference in the pronunciations with the different spellings…
how do you think this is pronounced… which one do you like better… with the e on the end or without…

1.[name]El[/name]eanor(e)

  1. [name]El[/name]eonor(e)

3.[name]El[/name]anor(e)

4.[name]El[/name]enor(e)

  1. [name]El[/name]inor(e)

  2. [name]El[/name]ianor(e)

  3. [name]El[/name]ienor(e)

ALSO… with the middle name [name]Marie[/name]… would you choose [name]Eleanor[/name] ( or which ever spelling) or [name]Eleanora[/name] ( whichever spelling…

I like the nn [name]Nora[/name] but also thought that [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Marie[/name] woulc be [name]Norma[/name]… cute or too old…

SO many options for one name!

No, not really. Maybe for number 6 and 7? I’ve never seen them before so hard to be sure what I’d think!

I had never seen them before until i did a search on this website!

Any other opinions…

[name]Eleanor[/name] pronounced ella nor

[name]El[/name]éonore is my favorite version of [name]Eleanor[/name] (I also like this version) I dont care for 3,5,6,7 on your list. I think this is a very sweet name

I definitely prefer [name]Eleanor[/name] and I think [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Marie[/name] is lovely.

Prefer [name]Eleanor[/name]. I think I’d recognize them all as a version of [name]Eleanor[/name] so I’d probably pronounce them all ell-in-or. There are a few I might have to think about though if I hadn’t seen them on this list.

I pronounce them all the same. I’d only use [name]Eleanor[/name]- it’s the most familiar and least likely to have spelling/pronunciation issues.

[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Marie[/name] i believe is a fine choice as its my full name! (spelt [name]Eleanor[/name])
I go by [name]Ellie[/name] or [name]Elle[/name] however I really love the nn [name]Nora[/name]

Oh and my brother is [name]Patrick[/name], haha

The [name]Patrick[/name] in my sons name and the [name]Marie[/name] for a daughter (if we have one) were my grandparents names! [name]Pat[/name] and [name]Marie[/name]! I just love the names!

Thanks for the opinions everyone!

I love [name]Eleanor[/name], no e. There is no difference in pronunciation. [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Marie[/name] flows well and I think [name]Nora[/name] is really cute but I cannot picture [name]Norma[/name] on a little girl. [name]Marie[/name] (even though it is my own middle name so I should be biased) is a filler middle name to me unless it has special meaning for you.

I like [name]Elinore[/name] the most. [name]Norma[/name] is just too cute I can’t stand it. I’d love to use it but hubby said no. I don’t think I like Elinora though, too long and too many vowels.

[name]Eleanor[/name]! (That’s my mom’s name!) [name]Love[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Marie[/name]. My mom was an [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Yvonne[/name].

always use the traditional spellings. I find varients to be quite tacky

It was my grandmother name!

I pronounce [name]Eleanor[/name], Eleonor, [name]Elenor[/name], [name]Elanor[/name], [name]Elinor[/name] as ell-uh-[name]NOR[/name]

Elianor and Elienor I pronounce as ell-ee-uh-[name]NOR[/name]

I think [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Marie[/name] is very pretty! You can still use the [name]Nora[/name] nickname  Although, [name]Norma[/name] is adorable!

I would Stick with the traditional spelling. I pronounce it [name]El[/name] ah [name]NOR[/name]. Beautiful =0)

If you want the traditional pronunciation, you should stick with the traditional spelling, [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Elinor[/name].

I personally like [name]Ali[/name]énor best. Also [name]Leonora[/name], but not [name]Eleanor[/name].
