I want to use [name_f]Ann[/name_f] as her middle name to honor my grandmother.
Not loving the look of [name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f].
Then I thought I guess maybe [name_f]Margaux[/name_f]?
[name_f]Margaux[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] looks okay I guess. So does
[name_f]Margaux[/name_f] [name_u]Prescott[/name_u], but… isn’t it pretentious? And isn’t it a wine?
I don’t think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Prescott[/name_u] looks weird, but I do understand the silent t in [name_f]Margot[/name_f] followed by a last name ending in t like [name_u]Prescott[/name_u] feeling a bit off. On that note, I definitely don’t think [name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] looks strange at all!
I prefer [name_f]Margo[/name_f] to [name_f]Margot[/name_f] typically, and I do think [name_f]Margo[/name_f] would flow best with last name ending in t. But if you and dh do decide on [name_f]Margot[/name_f] I don’t think anyone will bat an eye at [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Prescott[/name_u]!
I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Prescott[/name_u] is totally great! Since there is only one T in [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and two in [name_u]Prescott[/name_u], it looks perfectly good to me.
I love Margot!! And I prefer that spelling. I can see how having the silent t in [name_f]Margot[/name_f] followed by a pronounced t in [name_u]Prescott[/name_u] could be “weird” but I honestly don’t think I would have noticed it at all if you hadn’t pointed it out. Especially since the o is pronounced differently in both, it’s not like it rhymes or anything.
I think [name_f]Margo[/name_f] is totally cute too though, and I think [name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] [name_u]Prescott[/name_u] works really well.
I agree about [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] feeling a little pretentious. It just feels a little extra and unnecessary.
I don’t think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Prescott[/name_u] looks weird at all. I do agree with you about [name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] though. I’m not a huge fan of the [name_f]Margo[/name_f] spelling and with [name_f]Ann[/name_f] minus the e it all seems a little unfinished. Meanwhile, I actually adore [name_f]Margaux[/name_f]. I do understand the concern about it bring pretentious but in saying that it is another legitimate spelling of the name and considering [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is becoming a little more popular, a [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] might stand apart a bit? But I think if you love [name_f]Margot[/name_f] go for it!
I like [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] because it def sets it apart from the last name & looks lovely, to me.
But then again, most of the names & spellings I go for would be considered pretentious by the standards you’re speaking of! But for what it’s worth, I think it looks best with the similar last name you discussed.
Maybe it really clashes with the other siblings? [name_u]Or[/name_u], would constantly be mispronounced & that bothers you? That would be more of a red flag. [name_m]Just[/name_m] my 2 cents.
I think both [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Margo[/name_f] look fine! I think for you (if it bothers you) I would go with [name_f]Margo[/name_f]. You (and she) are going to be seeing [name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_u]Prescott[/name_u] way more often then you’ll see [name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] [name_u]Prescott[/name_u].
Personally do not see how [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Prescott[/name_u] looks weird I think visually the silent T in [name_f]Margot[/name_f] looks great with the double T at the end of [name_u]Prescott[/name_u] I don’t see any issue at all. [name_f]My[/name_f] preferred spelling is [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and I think she’s a lovely choice! I also think [name_f]Ann[/name_f] works wonderfully as Margot’s middle name.
I say go with [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Prescott[/name_u] it’s a lovely name!
I actually love the look of [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Prescott[/name_u]! [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] is also a great spelling (Not pretentious to me) but Margot’s definitely more straightforward if you don’t want to complicate spelling.
So when I see [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Prescott[/name_u] my brain does wanna say “mar-got Prescott” or “mar-go pres-co.” Obviously though I know those are wrong so I don’t think it’s a huge deal if you went with that spelling, but I do see what you mean about it being a little weird.
But I don’t think there’s anything wrong with [name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] at all. That’s probably my favorite spelling of the name. But [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] would also be fine. I don’t think it’s pretentious, but it is the most “complicated” spelling.
Nothing seems off with [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Prescott[/name_u] to me, I think it looks lovely and I prefer it to the other options. If it’s the spelling you’ve loved and your partner does too then I say stick with it.
I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] [name_u]Prescott[/name_u] works perfectly! It doesn’t look weird at all to me. Then you get your preferred spelling, honor name middle! I prefer this spelling too
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Prescott[/name_u] does feel a bit off to me, but I think it’d still be usable.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite spelling is [name_f]Margaux[/name_f]. It doesn’t feel pretentious to me, and if it’s a wine I’m not aware of that (though I’m not much of a drinker). The only real-life Margot/Margo/etc I’ve known spelled it [name_f]Margaux[/name_f], so that’s probably why it’s the spelling I prefer.
For me it goes [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] > [name_f]Margot[/name_f] > [name_f]Margo[/name_f]
