[name]Bodhi[/name] is my favorite spelling.

It’s my favorite spelling too. I just worry about the cultural significance of it, and the fact that we aren’t Buddhist. I am afraid of being disrespectful. It’s not the only deciding factor, but it’s one of them. [name]Do[/name] you think non-Buddhists using [name]Bodhi[/name] is ignorant?

Buddhism is not an exclusive religion (e.g., one can be a [name]Christian[/name] Buddhist), so I doubt any Buddhists would object.

It’s not ignorant at all. People, everywhere, use names from different cultures/religions/languages/etc.

While I like using different spelling of names, in this case, I would stick with [name]Bodhi[/name]. If I just saw the other spelling you have listed, I would assume [name]Bode[/name] rhymed with mode, and that Bodie and Bodey were varient spellings of the word body. [name]Bodhi[/name], while it can be mispronounced as well, is probably going to be more recognizable than [name]Bode[/name], Bodie, or Bodey.

I would personally choose Bodie.

Thank you very much everyone. My favorite is [name]Bodhi[/name]. My partner’s is Bodie, he thinks.
[name]Do[/name] you mind if I ask why you would go with Bodie, [name]Kala[/name]? [name]Just[/name] curious what your thinking is.

I like [name]Bodhi[/name] best, too. They others just look too kre8tiv. Or too much like [name]Brody[/name]. Or Body.

The only person I’ve ever known with the name spelled it Bodie.
It seems straightforward and unfrilled.
Silent letters aren’t preferable to me unless they’re extremely common.
It might depend on where you’re from though–certain spellings might be more intuitive in certain areas.

But I guess you shouldn’t pin too much on my opinion since I’m not very fond of the name to begin with.
