I need help figuring out how to spell 2 names.
The gist of the story I’m writing is that it’s set in the future. And it’s going to be a script- a screenplay- so it’s not like any of this genuinely matters. I’m just hung up on it.

The first major character’s name is easy. It’s Johna. Or… is it [name_f]Jonna[/name_f]? I figured that [name_m]John[/name_m]'s always been a pretty popular name and girl names are starting to dip into the boy name bucket so it’s semi realistic to imagine the name being popularized in the future. I just dont know which way looks nicer. Johna or [name_f]Jonna[/name_f]?

The second character’s name is far harder to make readable, though. I want it to sound like the first two syllables of [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]. Da-lie. I dont know how to convey that, though. I need the most help with this one. I just want it to be clear on paper.

Or maybe I scrap the name entirely for something you suggest.

I vote [name_f]Jonna[/name_f] over Johna, it looks better and I’m tempted to say Johna with a long o.

For the other character - maybe Delai?

[name_f]Jonna[/name_f] looks lovely though it might be mistaken for [name_f]Joanna[/name_f], but that should be fine if you say how it’s pronounced.
For the second main character:
Delai
Dali
[name_f]Delie[/name_f]
Deligh
You can spell it however you want but specify how it’s pronounced.
