Spelling of Casper

I’m starting to really like the name [name_m]Casper[/name_m], but I can’t decide on a spelling. Which do you prefer between [name_m]Casper[/name_m], [name_m]Caspar[/name_m], [name_m]Kaspar[/name_m], and [name_m]Kasper[/name_m]? Would the K spellings immediately be assumed to be kre8tiv even though they’re legitimate variations?

Thanks!

I like [name_m]Casper[/name_m]. I think it’s the most common spelling (least confusion & misspelling potential) and its also a phonetic spelling. Versus w [name_m]Kaspar[/name_m] and [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] I’ve heard them pronounced both the same as [name_m]Cas[/name_m]-pur (like [name_m]Casper[/name_m]) and [name_m]Cas[/name_m]-par (like on par).

I prefer [name_m]Casper[/name_m] -it has a nice roundness and appealing look

I like [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and [name_m]Kasper[/name_m]. I don’t think of [name_m]Kasper[/name_m] as a creative spelling as much as just a [name_m]German[/name_m] or Eastern European spelling. I considered [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] for my son but ended up going with [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] because I love the stone association.

[name_m]Casper[/name_m] is my favourite! I’d use it myself.

I definitely like the spelling [name_m]Casper[/name_m] the best. It is such a cute name! I love it!

I may be in the minority - but I have [name_m]German[/name_m] heritage so to me [name_m]Kasper[/name_m] is how I would personally spell it. I am typically strongly against creative spellings, but I believe the K is more European .
I also may lean towards the K because the C reminds me of the friendly ghost. It’s a great name nonetheless!! Very unexpected and strong

I like [name_m]Casper[/name_m] best, followed closely by [name_m]Caspar[/name_m]. I personally pronounce the two slightly differently (UR vs AR), so however you want it to be pronounced would be the spelling I would say is best.
I’m not a fan of [name_m]Kasper[/name_m]/[name_m]Kaspar[/name_m]. I find it doesn’t look right on paper, but that might just be me.

Nonetheless, [name_m]Casper[/name_m]/[name_m]Caspar[/name_m]/[name_m]Kasper[/name_m]/[name_m]Kaspar[/name_m] is a very handsome name, lovely choice!

I have a [name_m]Casper[/name_m]. I nearly went with [name_m]Kasper[/name_m] because it would have made our family initials J, K, L, M and I thought that was cute, but in the end I didn’t because I knew I’d always have to say [name_m]Kasper[/name_m] with a K and I also just prefer how it looks with a C.

I prefer [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and it’s a name I would consider using! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.

I like [name_m]Casper[/name_m] or [name_m]Kasper[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Caspar[/name_m]/[name_m]Kaspar[/name_m] has a potential to be mispronounced as cas-[name_m]PAR[/name_m]. I don’t bat an eyelid at the K spelling, to me it isn’t “creative” it’s more evocative of an Eastern European name. A common spelling at my school was [name_m]Kacper[/name_m] (there were about 3 boys with this name) so the K at the front doesn’t look odd to me at all.

My favourite is [name_m]Casper[/name_m]

I prefer the look of [name_m]Caspar[/name_m]

I prefer [name_m]Casper[/name_m] or [name_m]Kasper[/name_m]. I do not like the -ar ending.
