Considering naming my daughter [name_f]Millie[/name_f]/[name_f]Milly[/name_f] but wanting a unique spelling.
What are your opinions on Mili or even [name_f]Milli[/name_f]?? We were thinking of the first as it’s rather uncommon and have only ever heard of one other.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like it/what are your honest opinions on it?

I only like [name_f]Milly[/name_f] or [name_f]Millie[/name_f]. [name_f]Milli[/name_f] reminds of the 90s band [name_f]Milli[/name_f] Vanilli.
I’d recommend sticking with [name_f]Milly[/name_f] or [name_f]Millie[/name_f] as well.
[name_f]Milli[/name_f] does make me think of [name_f]Milli[/name_f] Vanilli too, haha! And [name_f]Millie[/name_f] is a beautiful name that has never made me think of them before!
I must agree with the other posters, I think you should stick with one of the classic spellings. I prefer [name_f]Millie[/name_f].
I adore [name_f]Millie[/name_f]. I prefer the [name_f]Millie[/name_f] spelling, followed by [name_f]Milly[/name_f]. Often creative spellings look like a child’s misspellings to me. A name can be with a person for 70/80+ years. I personally think it is best to use known spellings, correct spellings. You might like creative spellings but this will be your child’s name. I think as a whole people prefer not to have creative spellings. So I personally would error on that side when naming children.
I would just go with [name_f]Millie[/name_f].
However if you’re naming her [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] or [name_f]Milena[/name_f] or [name_f]Emily[/name_f] or [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] NN Mili, that would work!
The Mili or [name_f]Milli[/name_f] spellings make me think of millimeter and millipede, even though those both have the double L. For me, I’s and L’s run together in a name, so it’s very hard to distinguish at first if there are two L’s or one. If anyone else has that issue, or even if the name is typed in certain type fonts, it could get mispelled very easily. I really think the E on the end helps ground it plus it’s traditional and recognizable, so the [name_f]Millie[/name_f] spelling is the best way to go.
I agree, stick with the spellings [name_f]Milly[/name_f] or [name_f]Millie[/name_f]
[name_f]Millie[/name_f] is the best spelling imo. Sweet and charming.
I would stick with [name_f]Milly[/name_f] or [name_f]Millie[/name_f]. Mili looks like it should be pronounced mee-lee rather than mill-ee, like how [name_f]Mila[/name_f] is mee-la, rather than mill-a like it would be in [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] with the double L. [name_f]Milli[/name_f] also looks confusing- there are already two common spellings, which increases the likelihood of people getting it wrong compared to a name with one established spelling. Spelling it a third, more unusual way would make it even more likely to be misspelled. I prefer [name_f]Milly[/name_f] to [name_f]Millie[/name_f], myself.
