[name]Eamon[/name], I think it’s traditional and it just looks right.
I voted for [name]Eamon[/name]. This spelling and [name]Eamonn[/name] are both used and therefore correct. Please don’t spell them any other way as it would ruin the charm of the name and the name wouldn’t really be Irish anymore, would it? As someone with an Irish heritage, the other spellings are just too painful to even contemplate.
[name]Eamonn[/name] is the original spelling, but I think [name]Eamon[/name] is close enough. I love the name! [name]Aymon[/name] and [name]Amon[/name] are horrible, though.
I chose [name]Eamon[/name], because it looked most natural to me. [name]Amon[/name] actually is a proper spelling, too, re: a previous poster. It’s a Hebrew name, and he was a Biblical king of [name]Judah[/name]. It’s not a very happy association though, as he was idolatrous and assassinated by his servants.
This is a case where I think the spelling you use definitely influences the feel of the name. [name]Eamonn[/name]/[name]Eamon[/name] give the Celtic feel, while [name]Amon[/name]/[name]Aymon[/name] have a Hebrew/Middle Eastern vibe.
