We’ve finally decided that baby #4 (girl#2) name is [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] but we’re not sure how we want to spell it. I’m thinking [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]. hubby says [name_f]Zoey[/name_f] and a friend suggested [name_f]Zoie[/name_f]. Hubby also jokingly suggested Xoey, which i think is kinda cute but would that be totally ridiculous??? Our other children are
[name_m]Kaiden[/name_m] [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]
Makenzi Rainne
[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] [name_u]Finley[/name_u]
Also any middle name suggestions??? We’re really stuck in that area. Ideas for middle are: [name_f]Mandalynn[/name_f]; [name_f]Willow[/name_f]; [name_f]Kailynn[/name_f]; and [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. Open to any suggestions though, we’re not in love with any of those.
Thanks in advance!!!
In my opinion [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] is the most straight forward and accepted.
[name_f]Zoey[/name_f] reminds me of [name_u]Zooey[/name_u] which I think of as masculine, and the “i” in [name_f]Zoie[/name_f] just looks unnecessary to me. Sorry to say I’m not a fan of Xoey at all, I’m a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to spelling and I’d worry that little Xoey would have her name misspelled and mispronounced constantly! But if you’re not fazed by that then it would be a unique name to separate her from the crowd.
I like [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]!
Personally I prefer the traditional [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]. But then again, you’ve gone with “unusual” spellings for your other kids so it wouldnt be too far off if you want to use a spelling like Xoey.
I prefer [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]. But since I see you like unusual spellings… I’m going to suggest Xoe. Either way, I would lose the “y” because it says pre-teen to me and therefore won’t age well.
I really prefer correct, standard spellings, so [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] would be my first choice. However, since you’ve used a couple of misspellings, especially the two names for your first daughter, it might be more balanced to continue to use misspellings. I don’t like how it looks at all, makes the teacher in me cringe, but Xoe isn’t too terrible. [name_m]Just[/name_m] drop the y at least.
Xoe [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and Xoe [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] is a beautiful choice! [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] is my favorite spelling because it is the most intuitive for me (if someone said “[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]” out loud that is how I would spell it). I love the thought of [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f].
Another vote for [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] (and specifically [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]). I feel like the [name_f]Zoey[/name_f] spelling came about because people were unfamiliar with the name and were worried about it being mispronounced as just “[name_m]Zo[/name_m]”, but it’s popular enough now that I don’t think the “y” is necessary at all. To me, [name_f]Zoie[/name_f] looks kind of like it might be pronounced “Zoy” (like [name_f]Joy[/name_f] with a Z) and Xoe/y looks confusing - I’d wonder about its pronunciation too. Stick with [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]!
I like [name_f]Zoey[/name_f] much better than [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]. [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] always looks like it would be pronounced “[name_m]Zo[/name_m]” to me.
Thank you for all your replies!!! I’m definitely leaning towards [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]. I do like Xoe though! She’s not due until Sept so there’s plenty of time to decide!! ”
