DH and I have landed on [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] if this LO is a girl. I am somewhat a fan of the traditional spelling but I am also drawn to [name_f]Alys[/name_f] and [name_f]Alis[/name_f]. Also “[name_f]Faith[/name_f]” holds a reference to my [name_f]MIL[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] so should we consider [name_f]Fayth[/name_f]? Our other DDs are [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] and [name_f]Laurelei[/name_f] [name_f]Alivia[/name_f] so we have gone both traditional spelling and non-traditional spelling route. What do you think?
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] is a lovely name. I think you should stick with the traditional spelling of [name_f]Alice[/name_f], however since you are honouring your [name_f]MIL[/name_f] with the name [name_f]Faith[/name_f] I think [name_f]Fayth[/name_f] would work really well. Also it would connect your other DDs names to have both a traditional and non traditional spelling. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f], [name_f]Laurelei[/name_f] [name_f]Alivia[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Fayth[/name_f] make a really nice sibset.
Definitely [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f]. [name_f]Alis[/name_f] and [name_f]Alys[/name_f] look very masuculine to me and [name_f]Fayth[/name_f] just looks like something a fifteen year would name a video game character.
I don’t like the way [name_f]Alis[/name_f] looks, it looks like a brand name or something to me. [name_f]Alys[/name_f] is pretty but I wouldn’t pronounce it the same actually. I think I would tend to say [name_m]Al[/name_m]-eece since it ends like [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]. And on that note, I would prefer [name_f]Alyce[/name_f] if you wanted to say [name_m]Al[/name_m]-eece. So I guess I would stick with [name_f]Alice[/name_f] (which is a lovely choice). I can see the argument for [name_f]Fayth[/name_f], but I would only use it with the original [name_f]Alice[/name_f] (i.e. only change one of the spellings).
I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] the best, but [name_f]Alice[/name_f] fayth second, only because it’s from [name_f]Faye[/name_f]… Though I think it’s clear enough with the regular spelling that it ties to [name_f]Faye[/name_f]. I think because they’re both such straightforward names, any spelling changes seem extra obvious.
No wacky spellings. Please. PLEASE. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] is a beautiful name and making a “kree8iv” spelling only mars that beauty.
