Which spelling for the name pronounced like LIE-luh: [name_f]Lila[/name_f] or [name_f]Lyla[/name_f]?
[name_m]Both[/name_m]. [name_f]Lila[/name_f] is the traditional spelling. [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] is the modern twist on the same name.
[name_f]Lilah[/name_f], like the end of [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]. Anything else just looks wrong to me. I’d prefer [name_f]Lila[/name_f] over [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] though.
I prefer the sweet vintage charm of [name_f]Lila[/name_f]. I strongly dislike random y’s in names that are perfectly fine the way they are.
Same here. (And for what it’s worth, I love [name_f]Lila[/name_f]!)
I like [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] because it looks better to me and, in this case, the y doesn’t confuse prn.
I prefer [name_f]Lila[/name_f] but I’ve warmed up to [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] since my cousin named one of her daughters [name_f]Lyla[/name_f]. I don’t think I’d consider [name_f]LYla[/name_f] to be a modern twist though. It’s been around SSA started keeping track of names (although nowhere near as popular as [name_f]Lila[/name_f]).
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] is often pronounced as [name_f]Leela[/name_f] where I live, so I would choose [name_f]Lyla[/name_f].
I prefer [name_f]Lila[/name_f], seems more correct in my eyes.
I prefer [name_f]Lila[/name_f].
I like them both. [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] looks prettier.
I much prefer [name_f]Lila[/name_f].
I know a [name_f]Lila[/name_f], and have never heard her name mispronounced. I like the [name_f]Lila[/name_f] spelling best, but [name_f]Lila[/name_f], [name_f]Lyla[/name_f], and [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] would work for the pronunciation you want.
