Spunky girl names that fit our family?

[name]Hi[/name] all! I am pregnant with #5, due in [name]November[/name]. We don’t know the sex yet, but as I am predisposed to producing girls, I am stressing over girl names! We have some options on the table and I just wanted some opinions or maybe suggestions.

[name]Baby[/name] will join older sibs [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Rose[/name], [name]Willow[/name] [name]Katherine[/name], [name]Adam[/name] [name]Isaac[/name], and [name]Arielle[/name] [name]Susanne[/name].

The current forerunners are:
[name]Piper[/name] [name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name] [name]June[/name]

I am set on [name]Abigail[/name] in the middle, except with [name]Clementine[/name] (it is too long with a three-syllable surname.)

My fiance loves [name]Piper[/name]. As far as he knows, that is THE name  I was set on it, but then my mom pointed out that the lack of an L in the name really made it flow poorly with my daughter’s names, and she’s right. I love it as a spunky little girl name, that will grow into a spunky name for a woman as time goes on and this generation of Pipers and Harpers grows up, but… That ruined it for me :frowning: this is the only thing holding me back. Were this my first or second baby, [name]Piper[/name] it would be, but the flow issue with three flowy girl names is a big deterrent right now.

I love [name]Penelope[/name] but I fear that, much like [name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Willow[/name] did the years I used them, it is going to have a huge popularity spike. I love the varied nickname potential and that it is at once tough and pretty.

[name]Clementine[/name] is my fallback, the one name we completely agree on. I am not in love with it, but it fits into the family well and has the level of sass I like

Fiance wants [name]Abigail[/name] as a first name, but I don’t prefer traditional first names, I like unusual but recognizable fn with traditional middle names if they decide their first names are too strange or unprofessional.

Opinions? Suggestions for names with a similar feel that involve the letter L and flow well with my daughter’s names? Advice? [name]TIA[/name]!!

I think [name]Penelope[/name] and [name]Clementine[/name] are both beautiful, and I don’t think they will rise too much in popularity. [name]Clementine[/name] [name]June[/name] is stunnin, but I also think [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Abigail[/name] would be fine.

I don’t like [name]Piper[/name], it’s so modern/trendy sounding and doesn’t have anything on [name]Penelope[/name] and [name]Clementine[/name]!

[name]Adam[/name], [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Willow[/name], [name]Arielle[/name] and…

[name]Lorelei[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Holly[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Claire[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Lola[/name]
[name]Lilac[/name]
[name]Nella[/name]
[name]Lenore[/name]
[name]Felicity[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Colette[/name]
[name]Lavender[/name]
[name]Linnea[/name]
[name]Clover[/name]
[name]Delilah[/name]
[name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Coral[/name]
[name]Melody[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Adele[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Chloe[/name]
[name]Nella[/name]
[name]Orla[/name]
[name]Elsa[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Clarice[/name]
[name]Delia[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Valerie[/name]

That said, I think if you love [name]Piper[/name], use it. Loving a name is more important than sibset cohesion. [name]Bear[/name] in mind that “[name]Penelope[/name]” will probably get shortened to [name]Penny[/name] – which also clashes with your sibset, IMHO.

I love [name]Clementine[/name]… here are some other spunky names that might fit your criteria (L in them, rare but not unheard of):

[name]Magnolia[/name], [name]Marigold[/name], [name]Clover[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Dahlia[/name], [name]Mabel[/name], [name]Bailey[/name]

I don’t think any of your choices fit with your daughters names, but I’d say [name]Penelope[/name]. However it does seem to be becoming popular

[name]Clio[/name]- might sound too close to [name]Willow[/name]
[name]Melinda[/name]
[name]Priscilla[/name]
[name]Ophelia[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Delphine[/name]
[name]Lenore[/name]
[name]Olympia[/name]
[name]Phelan[/name]/[name]Fallon[/name]
[name]Philomena[/name]

I think [name]Piper[/name] fits well with the names of your other children, no matter what other people say. [name]Adam[/name] doesn’t have an L either, and I think that makes [name]Piper[/name] flow with the others. Besides, it’s a bit of a break from the L sound, which is nice. In addition, while there does seem to be a lot of Pipers, it still isn’t an super common name. Plus, [name]Piper[/name] can be shortened to [name]Pip[/name], flows well with [name]Abigail[/name] as a middle, your husband really likes it, and you’re right in the fact that it’s definitely a spunky, lively name. I think [name]Piper[/name] is perfect.

I really like [name]Piper[/name] and [name]Clementine[/name] for your sib-set. The lack of an “L” doesn’t really stick out too much to me for [name]Piper[/name]. The only issue I see with [name]Penelope[/name] is that the “el” sound can be a bit repetitive with [name]Arielle[/name].

I think [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Palin[/name] has a [name]Piper[/name] and a [name]Willow[/name]. Not that that’s a bad thing, just something to consider. It was the first thing I thought of and I’m sure some people will also make the connection- which may or may not be a connection you’d be pleased with ;). I think all of your choices go well with your other children but I think I slightly prefer [name]Clementine[/name]. Good luck!

Thanks all, lots to think about here! I just figured that out about [name]Palin[/name], too… Ugh. That may be the final dealbreaker for me on using [name]Piper[/name] :frowning: guess we will see! Discussed it with SO last night and he still wants [name]Piper[/name] but also likes [name]Penelope[/name] just as much, so we will probably just stick those on the short list and keep searching.

I like [name]Penelope[/name] best out of your choices. I don’t think it’s going to become super popular, and I love [name]Penny[/name] as a NN. It’s seems fitting for the baby girl in your family.

I think [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Abigail[/name] NN [name]Penny[/name] is the best option you’ve got so far.

[name]Penelope[/name] [name]June[/name] would be lovely too
[name]Penny[/name] [name]June[/name] makes me think of [name]Penny[/name] [name]Lane[/name] (as in Beatles song)

Could you do [name]Penelope[/name] with the nickname [name]Pepper[/name]? Adorable, AND fits in the same sounds as [name]Piper[/name] but with the better flowing full name with your other daughters.

xo [name]Viv[/name]

Oh, I like this idea!

What about [name]Philippa[/name] [name]June[/name]- nickname, [name]Pippa[/name]!

[name]Pippa[/name] still has the spunkiness of [name]Piper[/name] with with the L to go along with [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Willow[/name], and [name]Arielle[/name].

What about [name]Philippa[/name]? Her nn is [name]Pippa[/name] which is also a possible nn for a [name]Piper[/name].

I like [name]Scarlett[/name] combo of [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Abigail[/name]. [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Willow[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name] and [name]Adam[/name] I really like the sibset.

rollo

[name]Penelope[/name], nn [name]Pepper[/name] is really cute.

[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Estelle[/name]
[name]Lavender[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name] or [name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Ellery[/name]
[name]Florence[/name] or [name]Flora[/name]

as for your names…

[name]Piper[/name] [name]Abigail[/name] - I love [name]Piper[/name], and I think it fits with your other girl names despite lacking an l
[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Abigail[/name] - this is one of my favorite names… the list for names in 2011 should be out soon soon, so you could see where [name]Penelope[/name] falls?
[name]Clementine[/name] [name]June[/name] - love [name]Clementine[/name], too- really, I like all your choices.

I can’t wait for that list to come out! I have a feeling it is going to play into my decision.

I think [name]Penelope[/name] with [name]Penny[/name] or [name]Nell[/name] as a nn could work so well! I think [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Abigail[/name] is stunning!

I really like P names ([name]Piper[/name] is cute!), so here are a few suggestions that contain a letter L:

[name]Palma[/name]

[name]Paloma[/name]

[name]Pearl[/name] <3

Pella

Petal

Hope this helps a little! Good luck!
