Spunky, quirky names. Help!!

Hello berries:)
So after looking through a million naming books and websites, me and my husband have put together a new shirt (long) list for our soon to be daughter. I would love it if you were able to tell me if you like the name/possible nicknames or spellings/how you would picture someone with this name. The girl will most likely have red hand, as both my husband and I do.

[name_u]Zola[/name_u] - I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] this but my husband is pretty meh about it

[name_f]Clementina[/name_f] - originally we thought of [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] but [name_f]Clementina[/name_f] would be an honor name so I almost like it more with an A

[name_f]Zella[/name_f] - My husband really likes this but I don’t love it at all. I much prefer [name_u]Zola[/name_u]

[name_m]Franklin[/name_m] - We both think that this would be adorable on a little girl. Is it too masculine?

[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] - Nickname [name_u]June[/name_u] isn’t something I love

[name_u]Wren[/name_u] - I think this sounds so so sweet but maybe too old lady-ish?

Bilan - One of my favorites

[name_f]India[/name_f] - I am afraid of people disliking this because it is a “country” and “not a name”

[name_f]Honey[/name_f] - Again, “food” and “not a name” but I really love this

[name_f]Ryleigh[/name_f] - My absolute favorite from this list. I love the sound/look/spelling everything. Thiughts???

Mayca - Pronouce My-Ka another homer name, though I don’t love the sound

[name_f]Delia[/name_f] - another favorite of mine, though I have decided that I like [name_f]DEAL[/name_f]- ee- ya better than [name_u]DELL[/name_u]-ee-ya

Other names we both like
[name_f]Pomeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Beverly[/name_f]
[name_f]Genovive[/name_f]
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f]
[name_f]Xanthia[/name_f]
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f]
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]??
[name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_u]January[/name_u] (love this)

Thanks berries

Interesting that you like [name_u]Zola[/name_u] but your husband doesn’t. And he likes [name_f]Zella[/name_f] but you don’t. LOL. I’d scratch them both from your list then if you don’t agree on them… although they are so close to each other!

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] - love … I don’t like [name_f]Clementina[/name_f] as much, but if it’s an honor name I would appreciate the sentiment

[name_m]Franklin[/name_m] - I don’t like this for a girl… What about [name_f]Frances[/name_f] or [name_f]Francine[/name_f] nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]

[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] - love … I don’t think everything needs a nickname but you could also consider nn [name_f]Juno[/name_f]

[name_u]Wren[/name_u] - love … I don’t think it sounds old-ladyish at all!

Bilan - not familiar with this name and not really liking

[name_f]India[/name_f] - not a fan unless it has some significance… I do like [name_u]Indiana[/name_u] for a girl though

[name_f]Honey[/name_f] - feels like more of a nickname or maybe a middle?

[name_f]Ryleigh[/name_f] - I really don’t like this spelling but love [name_u]Riley[/name_u]

Mayca- not familiar with this name and not really liking

[name_f]Delia[/name_f] - I prefer [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] and [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]

From your other names, I like [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] spelled this way and [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]

It is funny that [name_f]Zella[/name_f] and [name_u]Zola[/name_u] are so close to each other but you guys only like or the other. What about these? [name_f]Zoya[/name_f], [name_u]Zuri[/name_u], [name_f]Zara[/name_f], [name_f]Nola[/name_f]. They are pretty similar to [name_f]Zella[/name_f] and [name_u]Zola[/name_u].

Names I like:

[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]- I like it and I think [name_f]Junie[/name_f] is the sweetest Nn!

[name_u]Wren[/name_u]- not too old lady’s all! Really like it!

[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]- super sweet!

[name_u]January[/name_u]- love month names!

[name_f]Faye[/name_f]- don’t love it as a first name but like it as a middle name.

Names I don’t like:
Bilan- how do you prn it? Think she’ll always having to correct people of prn and spelling

[name_f]India[/name_f]- not a huge fan of place names, unless that place has some sort of significance to you.

Mayca- feel like everyone would want to prn it as may-ka not my-ka.

[name_m]Franklin[/name_m]- don’t like it for a girl, as suggested you could do [name_f]Frances[/name_f] or even [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u].

[name_f]Ryleigh[/name_f]- don’t love the spelling, prefer [name_u]Riley[/name_u].

[name_f]Honey[/name_f]- I think this is cute as a middle name but a bit much for a first name.

[name_f]Clementina[/name_f]- not a fan of this one. Think it’s the [name_u]Clem[/name_u] sound that puts me off of it.

Would [name_f]Zara[/name_f] be a good compromise? [name_u]January[/name_u] is really cute as well.

I like these from your list:

[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] - nns [name_f]Junie[/name_f] and [name_f]Juno[/name_f]
[name_f]Pomeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f]
[name_u]January[/name_u]
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] - though not a real favourite of mine it’s still a good name and meets your description well

And I’d like these with some tweaking:

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] - the a ending doesn’t appeal to me. [name_f]Clemency[/name_f] ?
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] - gorgeous spelt this way. nns [name_f]Evie[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Vivi[/name_f]
[name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] - love this but don’t like [name_f]Xanthia[/name_f] quite as much though it’s ok

My favourite for quirky and spunky would be [name_u]January[/name_u].

From your list I love [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] (would make a super cute girls name and nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]!) & I also like [name_f]Ryleigh[/name_f], but prefer it spelt [name_u]Riley[/name_u]. [name_f]Honey[/name_f] sounds like a dog’s name imo…

From your other list I particularly like [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], [name_f]Faye[/name_f] and [name_u]January[/name_u] which are all adorable.

I’d say [name_u]Zola[/name_u], [name_u]Wren[/name_u] and [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] would meet the description of spunky and quirky in my eyes. Some of the other names such as [name_f]Faye[/name_f], [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] and [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] are names I enjoy but I find more sweet than spunky.

[name_m]Franklin[/name_m] - I immediately add [name_m]Roosevelt[/name_m] in my head, creating a masculine feel. I would go with [name_u]Frankie[/name_u].
[name_f]Delia[/name_f] - Not a fan of delia on it’s own, I’d go with [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] which has such a great meaning too; heart.

perhaps you’ll both like: [name_f]Zelie[/name_f] or [name_f]Zora[/name_f]

[name_u]Zola[/name_u]: Very cute on a baby or little girl, but I don’t think it’s professional or adult-like.

[name_f]Clementina[/name_f]: I much more prefer [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. It seems like changing the ending is unexpected and it could be pronounced wrong.

[name_f]Zella[/name_f]: I don’t like this at all. It doesn’t feel like a name, or it feels like a weak one.

[name_m]Franklin[/name_m]: This is a very masculine name to me, so I could never imagine it on a girl.

[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]: Cute and spunky! The only downside I have with this name is that I’m sure people would naturally want to shorten it to [name_u]June[/name_u], which you don’t like.

[name_u]Wren[/name_u]: Fine, but trendy.

Bilan: I’m assuming because I’ve never heard of this name that most other people haven’t as well. This could cause mistakes in spelling and pronunciation.

[name_f]India[/name_f]: I agree with what you said. I only think of the country and not of it as a name.

[name_f]Honey[/name_f]: Very cute, but I’d never be brave enough to use it as a first. Plus I can’t picture it on an adult. But it could be a fun middle name option!

[name_u]Raleigh[/name_u]: I love this name for a girl, but prefer the traditional spelling of [name_u]Riley[/name_u].

Mayca: Same opinion as Bilan.

[name_f]Delia[/name_f]: Reminds me of [name_m]Deli[/name_m].

From the other names you like, I like [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]

I agree with pp re [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] being too masculine and [name_f]Ryleigh[/name_f] being better as [name_u]Riley[/name_u].

I love love love Araminty’s suggestion of [name_f]Clemency[/name_f] as a possible alternative to [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]/a.

[name_u]Zola[/name_u]/[name_f]Zella[/name_f]- agree with the suggestions on looking at other Z names if you can’t agree. Neither seem like something I’d want to put on my resume.

[name_f]Clementina[/name_f] - I’'m not a huge fan, but I picture someone sweet and kind with a little spunk

[name_m]Franklin[/name_m] - If I saw this on paper, I would assume it was a boy; it also reminds me of the cartoon turtle. One of my sisters has a name that is technically unisex, but it is heavily dominated by males… she really dislikes it and has actually considered changing her name, so I think this contributes to my dislike of unisex names that lean really heavily towards the other sex.

[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] - I would think of a cool, sporty, spunky girl. Prefer [name_f]Juno[/name_f] as a nickname

[name_u]Wren[/name_u] - I think this name can either have a sporty or dainty vibe depending on who is wearing it. Not my favorite personally, but I don’t think it’s old-lady

Bilan - Is this BY-lin? Not familiar with it/seems kind of made up. If you’re okay with place names, I think [name_u]Milan[/name_u] sounds cool.

[name_f]India[/name_f] - Same as others, I think it sounds cool, but maybe odd without a connection to [name_f]India[/name_f]. I picture a girl with dark hair and maybe an artsy side.

[name_f]Honey[/name_f] - Really do not like as a first name; it’s another one I can’t see using on a resume

[name_f]Ryleigh[/name_f] - I picture a spunky, sport girl who likes helping her parents. I think this spelling is ugly/necessarily complicated and would cause headaches. [name_u]Riley[/name_u] is much sleeker

Mayca - I think it would be fine as a middle option, although sounds like boy’s name [name_u]Micah[/name_u]

[name_f]Delia[/name_f] - I have a friend who pronounces it duh-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-ya, which I prefer to either of the other options

Others I like:
[name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Cassie[/name_f])
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Vi[/name_f] or Vieve) (please spell it the normal way!)
