Stand alone or nicknames only?

All my top names for my daughter ar nicknames. I’m in love especially with [name_f]Bella[/name_f] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] but i also can choose [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]/Arabella or [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] and call her with the short version. Give me your suggestions please!

I think [name_f]Bella[/name_f] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] can absolutely stand on their own. If you’re in love with the nicknames but not the full names, I’d say just go for the nicknames!

I don’t always go for the nickname names, but [name_f]Bella[/name_f] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] can absolutely stand on their own.

hi! welcome to nameberry! [name_f]Bella[/name_f] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] are solid and can totally stand on their own! my own name could be a nickname, but my parents didn’t want a longer version. it suits me nicely and I’ve never wanted a longer name. if you like the idea of a nickname, go for [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]/Arabella or [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], but if she’ll only be called [name_f]Bella[/name_f] or [name_f]Kate[/name_f], it’s not really necessary.

I think [name_f]Bella[/name_f] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] stand alone  I’d only use the full names if you actually like those too

Bella and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] can definitely stand alone! I love [name_f]Kate[/name_f] in particular – sleek, strong and nicely unexpected on a baby these days. It’s always been a favourite of mine

I agree they can definitely stand alone, and I Iike them both better alone than as a nickname for the full names!

I love short names and they definitely can stand alone

Bella and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] can absolutely stand alone! they’re both lovely - I’d only choose the full names if you genuinely adore them.

If you want her to go by [name_f]Bella[/name_f] or [name_f]Kate[/name_f] all the time with everyone then it makes sense to use them since they are totally fine on their own. But if you like the idea of a longer name or them having more than one nickname then a longer form could be fun, even then they might still just go 100% by the nickname you give them as a child.

I like the name [name_f]Kate[/name_f] as a middle name, or as part of a double name. I prefer the spelling [name_f]Cate[/name_f]. [name_f]Bella[/name_f] sounds nice on its own, as well, but I prefer [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] etc., since the formal version sounds more complete to me.

I like [name_f]Kate[/name_f] as a middle name too. i’m thinking about [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], it’s more complete and we can call her [name_f]Bella[/name_f].

IM a big fan of using the longer names, and then calling them by the nicknames. That way when they get older they have more options. (Also it’s kinda awesome as internet security to have a name people already know you by but isn’t you’re legal name, new age problems…) However I would only do it if you also like the longer versions!

I love that idea!

Bella and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] could stand on their own, but I personally prefer [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]/Arabella, [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], etc.–I love the balance! Plus, I never have really had a nn and all my life I wished I did. I get [name_u]Ash[/name_u] sometimes but not consistently enough to feel like it counts.

Bella and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] can definitely stand on their own. They’re wonderful names. I love [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] too!
