[name_f]My[/name_f] husband has been stuck on the name [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] for a while if we have a second girl. [name_f]My[/name_f] beef with it is just that we already have 3 in our very close family. Plus many [name_f]Mary[/name_f] variants… Most of them really. I like naming after family members, but only tangentially. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is named after grandparents [name_f]Susan[/name_f] and [name_f]Nancy[/name_f], both [name_f]Ann[/name_f] derivatives. [name_f]My[/name_f] son [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] (“little king”) was named after my husband’s grandfather [name_u]Roy[/name_u] (“king”).
I do love the meaning of the name Maureen-“star of the sea”- and of course I want to give my husband a win somehow, so I dug up on that and found that [name_f]Meribella[/name_f] or [name_f]Maribel[/name_f] have the same meaning as [name_f]Maureen[/name_f].
Siblings are Ann@ [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and Ry@n [name_u]William[/name_u]. So it’s a little flashier and longer first name but I wasn’t trying to set a trend with length or anything. So [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] And Maribel/Meribella? Middle name would probably be [name_f]Fay[/name_f], [name_f]Joy[/name_f] or [name_u]Lyn[/name_u].
Ann@ [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], Ry@n [name_u]William[/name_u] and Meribella/Maribel [name_u]Lyn[/name_u]?
In my opinion, [name_f]Maribella[/name_f] and [name_f]Maribel[/name_f] feel a bit mis-matched with big siblings [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you shouldn’t use a name you love! I do feel that maybe [name_f]Mara[/name_f] would work better with your children’s names.
I really like Ann@ [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], Ry@n [name_u]William[/name_u], and [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]
(Lyn and [name_f]Fay[/name_f] are beautiful too!)
[name_f]Edit[/name_f]: I wanted to add that [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] would also pair nicely with [name_f]Anna[/name_f] & [name_u]Ryan[/name_u], but it doesn’t lock you into that four-letter pattern. I thought you might like the meaning “Protector of the Sea”!
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] [name_f]Fay[/name_f], [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] [name_u]Lyn[/name_u] and [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] all sound nicely with [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_u]Ryan[/name_u].
[name_f]Maribel[/name_f] / [name_f]Meribella[/name_f] [name_u]Lyn[/name_u] is beautiful, but I’m not sure about it with her siblings’ names. [name_f]My[/name_f] choice between the two would be [name_f]Meribella[/name_f], but it really depends on which you and your husband love.
What about [name_f]Marika[/name_f]? It means star of the sea and I think it fits better with Ann@ and Ry@n. I like [name_f]Marika[/name_f] [name_f]Fay[/name_f].
From your 2 options I would go with [name_f]Maribel[/name_f]. Sure, it’s not a perfect match but I say if you love it, go with it. It’s a beautiful name. She could always be [name_f]Mari[/name_f] or Belle/a for short too. I also like the pp suggestion of [name_f]Mara[/name_f].
[name_m]Just[/name_m] another thought, not sure how set you are on [name_f]Joy[/name_f], [name_u]Lyn[/name_u] or [name_f]Fay[/name_f] but you could maybe use a first + middle that mean star + sea, that way you can still get the meaning but use a slightly shorter first name
E.g. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Muriel[/name_f] / [name_f]Meriel[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_u]Marin[/name_u] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]
[name_f]Mara[/name_f] Estelle/a [name_f]Fay[/name_f]
I would choose a classic name related to [name_f]Maureen[/name_f], such as [name_f]Mary[/name_f] or [name_u]Marie[/name_u] as either a first or middle name. I always thought [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] was the diminutive of [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. Perhaps……
Ann@ Dor0thy, Ry@n Willi@m and……
[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]. Ann@, Ry@n and [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u] Ann@, Ry@n and [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_f]Liza[/name_f] or [name_f]Lise[/name_f] or [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] or Lisi
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]. Ann@, Ry@n and [name_f]Meg[/name_f] or [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] or [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] or [name_f]Libby[/name_f]
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]. Ann@, Ry@n and [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] or [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]. Ann@, Ry@n and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]. Ann@; Ry@n and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Teresa[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]. Ann@, Ry@n and [name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]. Ann@, Ry@n and [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]. Ann@, Ry@n and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]. Ann@, Ry@n and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]. Ann@, Ry@n and [name_u]Lou[/name_u]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]. Ann@, Ry@n and [name_f]Lola[/name_f] or [name_f]Elle[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this is helpful. Sometimes seeing the options written down helps. Good luck making your decision. You can’t go wrong with classic names.
[name_f]Maribel[/name_f] [name_f]Fay[/name_f] is gorgeous!! and if you don’t like the nn [name_f]Mari[/name_f] due to it being popular in your family, Bel/Belle is a great nn that goes wonderfully with [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]!
