A little over a month ago, I posted in search of the perfect names for our triplets due in [name]January[/name] (though they’re expected to come sooner). My husband, [name]Matt[/name], and I got so frustrated coming up with three names that we decided to just start over.”
We have two amazing children already, [name]Josiah[/name] ([name]Jed[/name]) and [name]Abigail[/name] ([name]Abby[/name]). Our last name is [name]Cooper[/name].”
After we took a ‘break’ and revisited our lists, here are the names we like:
Here’s the thing: [name]Abigail[/name] is a very popular name, yet we chose it because we felt like it has a similar feel as [name]Josiah[/name]. [name]Josiah[/name] is, of course, a little more ‘out there’. So, we’re worried that if we pick a more mainstream name, such as [name]Lucas[/name] or [name]Benjamin[/name], the [name]Jed[/name]'s name will be the odd one out. We’d love your thoughts on it.”
We’re still so lost, and could really use your help. We are open to new suggestions as well. Thank you so much!
Oh, I should add that we are expecting 2 boys and a girl. The doctor originally told us that it was 2 girls and a boy, but apparently it was misread. ”
Thank you so much,
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Cooper[/name]”
Congrats! First I would like to inform you that [name]Josiah[/name] isn’t as out there are you may fear, it has broken the 100 mark in the SSA popularity charts. It is far closer to the 100 mark than the number one spot, but I still think he wouldn’t be odd man out with brothers named [name]Lucas[/name] and [name]Benjamin[/name] (plus I think [name]Jeb[/name] and [name]Ben[/name] sound cute together). However; since [name]Josiah[/name] is such a Biblical name, as is [name]Abigail[/name], I think a sibling named [name]Harrison[/name] or [name]Caroline[/name] may end up sounding like the odd man out. From your boy list I would probably go with [name]Isaac[/name], [name]Elias[/name], [name]Elijah[/name], [name]Benjamin[/name] or [name]Lucas[/name]. From the girl’s list [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Natalie[/name] seem to fit best to me. Some other names you may like: [name]Lydia[/name], [name]Mariah[/name]/[name]Moriah[/name], [name]Naomi[/name], [name]Rebecca[/name], [name]Leah[/name], or [name]Hannah[/name]. For boys [name]Nathaniel[/name]/[name]Nathan[/name] or [name]Abram[/name] would also fit, but I really like what you already have. If you get really stumped try nymbler.com. It’s a name suggestion program.
[name]Hi[/name] [name]Lucy[/name]!
[name]Josiah[/name] and [name]Abigail[/name] are great names, and go perfectly together.
From your list I really love [name]Isaac[/name] and [name]Elias[/name] together. [name]Jed[/name], [name]Abby[/name], [name]Ike[/name] and [name]Eli[/name] work amazingly with each other! Of course, with the nickname [name]Eli[/name], you could also use [name]Elijah[/name] but i feel it is slightly common, and [name]Elias[/name] just seems a lot more fresh.
[name]Isaac[/name] [name]Cooper[/name] isn’t ideal, but it doesn’t seem to bug me too much
Im not loving any of your ideas for girls. They seem way too formal to go with the fun [name]Jed[/name] and [name]Abby[/name]. However, i believe that out of the 3 names, [name]Elizabeth[/name] would be the best option. Since [name]Elizabeth[/name] has so many fun nicknames, you could lighten the formality of the name with nn’s like [name]Birdie[/name], [name]Liza[/name], [name]Beth[/name]. Ohhhh, but [name]Elias[/name] and [name]Elizabeth[/name] might be a bit much together.
I know brothers named [name]Lucas[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name], so I know those work really well together.
[name]Benjamin[/name] and [name]Harrison[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] are also great together, however i don’t know how well they all go with [name]Josiah[/name] and [name]Abigial[/name] (yet again, really formal names compared to the fun names of your children)
This is actually alot tricker then i thought. Here are other options that you may find work for you:
[name]Margaret[/name] nn [name]Daisy[/name] or [name]Mags[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] (a sister made for [name]Abigail[/name]! Also a derivative of [name]Caroline[/name])
[name]Emmeline[/name] ([name]Jed[/name], [name]Abby[/name] + [name]Emme[/name] work well together!)
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Sally[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name] (another match made in heaven with [name]Abigail[/name])
[name]Imogen[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] nn [name]Evie[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Maxwell[/name]
[name]Ezra[/name]
[name]Milo[/name]
[name]Caleb[/name]
[name]Alexander[/name] nn [name]Xander[/name] (So fun with [name]Jed[/name]!)
[name]Levi[/name]
[name]William[/name] nn [name]Liam[/name] or [name]Wills[/name]
[name]Tobias[/name] nn [name]Toby[/name] (Amazing with [name]Josiah[/name] and [name]Abigail[/name]!)
In an ideal world, my picks for you as siblings to [name]Josiah[/name] "[name]Jed[/name] and [name]Abigail[/name] “[name]Abby[/name]” are :
[name]Alexander[/name] [name]Cooper[/name]
[name]Tobias[/name] [name]Cooper[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name] [name]Cooper[/name]
[name]Xander[/name], [name]Toby[/name] and [name]Liv[/name]
[name]Love[/name] [name]Issac[/name]! I think [name]Ike[/name] would be a great addition to your family. [name]Elias[/name] I like also, but it’s very similar to [name]Elizabeth[/name], which I think is the only one of your girl’s names that really “goes” with [name]Jed[/name] and [name]Abby[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you like [name]Rebekah[/name] (or [name]Rebecca[/name], of course)? This is the first name that pops into my head for you. [name]Issac[/name], [name]Elias[/name] and [name]Rebekah[/name] is awesome. If you want to go with [name]Elizabeth[/name], I think [name]Issac[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Tobias[/name] is nice, as suggested by the PP. [name]Ike[/name], [name]Eli[/name] and [name]Becky[/name] would still be my number one choice for you. Congrats again on your three little ones!
Oh I love the names you have picked out for your first two children : [name]Josiah[/name] and [name]Abigail[/name] are two of my favourite names from the Bible. Congrats on your triplets! [name]Samuel[/name] and [name]Benjamin[/name] are more “mainstream” than [name]Josiah[/name] but they do work as sibsets. [name]Harrison[/name] is the odd one out so I would not have that name as an option. I love the name [name]Eli[/name] as opposed to [name]Elijah[/name] or [name]Elias[/name]. [name]Eli[/name] [name]Cooper[/name] just sounds so cool. From your girls list, [name]Elizabeth[/name] is the best fit. [name]Caroline[/name] is ok but it’s not from the Bible. Personally, it would be fun to stick with the Biblical theme. Here are some more suggestions that may go well with [name]Cooper[/name].
[name]Josiah[/name] isn’t that out there it is in the top 100.
[name]Both[/name] of your children have biblical names to im my opinion I think you should go with [name]Benjamin[/name], [name]Elijah[/name] & [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Benjamin[/name], [name]Samuel[/name] & [name]Elizabeth[/name].
If you don’t want to continue the biblical theme I would go with. [name]Elias[/name], [name]Harrison[/name] & [name]Caroline[/name].
Thank you for all of the responses! You guys are amazing!
”
We see the point about names like [name]Harrison[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] not really fitting in with [name]Josiah[/name] and [name]Abigial[/name]. They are names that we like, but don’t necessarily go with the style we have committed to.
Suggestions we like:
[name]Lydia[/name] - love this!
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]”
[name]Olivia[/name]- love this, but it’s SO popular!
[name]Rebecca[/name]”
What do you think of:
[name]Isaac[/name], [name]Elias[/name]/ [name]Elijah[/name], and [name]Lydia[/name]
We’d love your feedback and more suggestions of both names and combos. Thank you,
[name]Lucy[/name]”

Yes, [name]Harrison[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] are lovely names but don’t work amazingly with [name]Jed[/name] and [name]Abby[/name], but they should definitely be contenders for middle names! I saw on your other post that [name]Josiah[/name] [name]Everett[/name] and [name]ABigail[/name] [name]Eliot[/name] are your kids middle names, and i think [name]Harrison[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] would be great to go with those!
I just can’t get my name around [name]Lydia[/name]…im probably the only one on nameberry though who doesn’t see the beauty of it. All i hear when i hear [name]Lydia[/name] is “lid”. Especially since her nn would end up being “Lyd”, it just doesn’t seem feminine.
[name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] are perfect for you, as is [name]Olivia[/name]. No matter how popular [name]Olivia[/name] is, it is still such a beautiful name that goes perfectly with [name]Josiah[/name] and [name]Abigail[/name]. I wouldn’t take it off your list due to the popularity.
I do see how [name]Rebecca[/name] goes with [name]Abigail[/name] and [name]Josiah[/name], but it seems sort of dated to me. Very 90’s. It was the same feel as [name]Natalie[/name] to me.
Absolutely love [name]Isaac[/name] and [name]Elias[/name] together, glad you do too! The reason why i like [name]Isaac[/name], [name]Elias[/name] and [name]Olivia[/name] together is the slight tie they have with the “i” being a prominent vowel in each name.
[name]Isaac[/name], [name]Elijah[/name] & [name]Natalie[/name]
[name]Isaac[/name] [name]Harrison[/name] [name]Cooper[/name] “[name]Ike[/name]”
[name]Elijah[/name] [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Cooper[/name] “[name]Eli[/name]”
[name]Natalie[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Cooper[/name] “[name]Nellie[/name]” - actually now that i see this, [name]Eli[/name] and [name]Nellie[/name] might be a bit too similar.
[name]Isaac[/name], [name]Tobias[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Isaac[/name] [name]Elijah[/name] [name]Cooper[/name] “[name]Ike[/name]”
[name]Tobias[/name] [name]Ethan[/name] [name]Cooper[/name] “[name]Toby[/name]”
[name]Eliza[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Cooper[/name] “[name]Liza[/name]” - keeping in the “E” middle name trend
or
[name]Isaac[/name] [name]Harrison[/name] [name]Cooper[/name]
[name]Tobias[/name] [name]Elijah[/name] [name]Cooper[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Cooper[/name] (gorgeous)
[name]Issac[/name], [name]Elias[/name] and [name]Lydia[/name] would be lovely! And they all have 5 letters. [name]Jed[/name], [name]Abby[/name], [name]Ike[/name], [name]Eli[/name] and Lyddie. I would definitely do [name]Elias[/name] over [name]Elijah[/name], though. [name]Elijah[/name] and [name]Josiah[/name] are a bit too close for comfort. [name]Glad[/name] you like [name]Rebecca[/name]!
[name]Isaac[/name], [name]Elias[/name] & [name]Lydia[/name] would make a great sibset for [name]Josiah[/name] and [name]Abigail[/name]. I love “ASophie1”'s suggestion of [name]Isaac[/name] [name]Harrison[/name] [name]Cooper[/name] and [name]Elias[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name] [name]Cooper[/name] (they have great flow and look good written out with your surname). Now let’s see what we can come up with for [name]Lydia[/name]…
I just noticed i suggested [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Cooper[/name]. Uh oh, please don’t use this name!!! [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] are pretty much the same name, don’t know how i didn’t catch that earlier! Instead how about:
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Cooper[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Natalie[/name] [name]Cooper[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Cooper[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Cooper[/name]
Maybe i should re-read my posts before sending them! hehe
I love [name]Isaac[/name], [name]Elias[/name], and [name]Lydia[/name]! All five letters and all go perfectly with [name]Josiah[/name] and [name]Abigail[/name]. I dont care for [name]Elijah[/name] and [name]Josiah[/name] together, they sound a little to similar for me. I also really like [name]Benjamin[/name] with the above names. [name]Isaac[/name], [name]Benjamin[/name], and [name]Lydia[/name] would be my top pick. I think they go perfectly with [name]Abigail[/name] and [name]Josiah[/name]. [name]Lydia[/name] is similar in popularity as [name]Josiah[/name], [name]Benjamin[/name] is similar to [name]Abigail[/name] and [name]Isaac[/name] I believe falls right in the middle. A perfect combination if you ask me.
I really like [name]Olivia[/name] and [name]Lydia[/name] for a girl.
For boys I really like [name]Harrison[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name].
I think they all sound classy and flow really well with [name]Josiah[/name] and [name]Abigail[/name].
Wow, you have quite a task. You are working with some awesome names though. I really love [name]Elias[/name]! [name]Isaac[/name] is a great name but I have a problem with it and your last name. Would you consider [name]Gabriel[/name]?
I don’t think kids are as bothered by comparing names as parents think. I have a more uncommon name, where my two brothers both have top-5 names for the years they were born. None of us ever thought to worry about the popularity of one of our names vs. the others.
A kid’s name is its name, and they absolutely do NOT analyze it as much as their parents do!
Well, with [name]Josiah[/name] ([name]Jed[/name]) and [name]Abigail[/name] ([name]Abby[/name]), and knowing you are expecting two boys and a girl, I’d choose [name]Benjamin[/name], [name]Samuel[/name], and [name]Elizabeth[/name] - [name]Ben[/name], [name]Sam[/name], and [name]Lizzie[/name]. If you are looking for something a little more unusual to go with [name]Josiah[/name] and [name]Abigail[/name], I’d choose names like these:
I would choose [name]Benjamin[/name] and [name]Tobias[/name] for boys. They work perfectly with [name]Josiah[/name] and [name]Abigail[/name] - [name]Jed[/name], [name]Abby[/name], [name]Ben[/name], and [name]Toby[/name]? I also think [name]Tobias[/name] and [name]Ephraim[/name] or [name]Samson[/name] and [name]Tobias[/name] would work well. Yea, [name]Josiah[/name], [name]Abigail[/name], [name]Samson[/name], and [name]Tobias[/name]? [name]Sam[/name] and [name]Toby[/name] are really cute for brothers.
I think [name]Samson[/name], [name]Tobias[/name], and [name]Miriam[/name] would be cute. Or [name]Benjamin[/name], [name]Tobias[/name], and [name]Naomi[/name]? [name]Elizabeth[/name] is still a great option for you, and it fits very well - [name]Benjamin[/name], [name]Tobias[/name], and [name]Elizabeth[/name] are cute ([name]Ben[/name], [name]Toby[/name], and [name]Lizzie[/name]).
From your list I like [name]Elias[/name], [name]Samuel[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] which go perfectly with [name]Josiah[/name] and [name]Abigail[/name]!
Others names to consider:
[name]Logan[/name]
[name]Asher[/name]
[name]Ezra[/name]
[name]Nathaniel[/name]
