Hubby and I have been trying to conceive, and today, I finally had a positive pregnancy test! Still a bit shocked, and part of me is in denial. But, it now turns this baby-naming hobby into “the real deal.”
On that note, I am starting to have second thoughts on our girl combo: [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. I absolutely love it, but it is really starting to bug me that it is so different from my daughter’s name. [name_f]Emberlee[/name_f] [name_u]Shea[/name_u] was named after my grandmother, and though it is lovely, it doesn’t necessarily suit my naming style, whatever that may be. Her name just feels so young to me, despite my granny wearing this name at 92!
A few names that I like:
[name_f]Louise[/name_f]/a (honor name)
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f]
[name_f]Ona[/name_f] (honor name, but honors the same person as [name_f]Emberlee[/name_f])
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Evanthe[/name_f]
[name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] (a favorite, but it seems so masculine. Might work well as middle, to match the unisex [name_u]Shea[/name_u] in [name_f]Emberlee[/name_f]'s name)
[name_f]Etta[/name_f] (honor name)
Some of these don’t pair well with [name_f]Emberlee[/name_f], some my hubby hates, some are too popular, and some are used by relatives. But, right now, I would love to hear your thoughts: combos from these or new suggestions. I guess I like names that aren’t overly frilly.
I’m really at a loss. For reference, our surname is like “[name_f]Deal[/name_f].” Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you.
