I have 5 weeks left of my pregnancy and I don’t have a name for my munchkin yet. I am a planner so this is really freaking me out. My husband and I have come up with some possibilities but I don’t really love any of them. I already have a 2-year old daughter named [name]Katrina[/name] [name]Jade[/name] and we had it decided well in advance.
Some of the names we have come up with are:
[name]Erika[/name]
[name]Amanda[/name]
[name]Alexandra[/name] (decided against because it’s really popular)
[name]Olivia[/name] (too popular)
[name]Natasha[/name] (I prefer [name]Tasha[/name] to [name]Natasha[/name] but I want a ‘full name’ that I can shorten)
[name]Sierra[/name]
[name]Willow[/name] (our last name starts with a W so we eliminated this pretty fast)
Although I like all of these names, I don’t love them and I am positive the perfect name is out there.
[name]Amalia[/name]
[name]Hillary[/name]
[name]Alaina[/name]
[name]Anastasia[/name] (could get you the nickname [name]Tasha[/name])
[name]Sasha[/name]
[name]Alexandria[/name]
[name]Alexa[/name]
Have you considering doing [name]Alexandra[/name] nn [name]Sasha[/name]? [name]Sasha[/name] would be a less popular form of the name and it’s very similar in sound to [name]Tasha[/name]
Ok, no ‘W’ names, no names that are too popular, and preferably a longer name?
[name]Katrina[/name] has a Scandinavian feel as does your chosen spelling for [name]Erika[/name]. [name]Natasha[/name]/[name]Tasha[/name] feels Russian, and [name]Katrina[/name] could too. I like the suggestion of [name]Annika[/name]. Some Russian and Scandinavian names that also go with [name]Katrina[/name] are:
Aila (form of [name]Helen[/name], so an adaptation of a Greek name like [name]Katrina[/name] – however people might assume she’s [name]Isla[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you like [name]Isla[/name]?)
[name]Vera[/name] (interesting someone else suggested this too!)
[name]Nadia[/name]
[name]Xenia[/name]
[name]Linnea[/name] (this can be stressed on the e [name]Linn[/name] AY a, you seem to like non-initial stress?)
[name]Lucia[/name] (same stress pattern, and a saint’s name heavily associated with Scandinavia)
[name]Louisa[/name] (same stress pattern)
[name]Dahlia[/name]
[name]Danica[/name] (can bee [name]DAN[/name] ic a or [name]Dan[/name] EEK a)
[name]Hi[/name] [name]Vicky[/name], now don’t panic! There is a great name out there for your second daughter. Here are some suggestions for you to consider. Judging by your name list, you don’t seem to mind another name ending in “a” so I will include some of them too! All the best!

Wow you guys are great, thanks. I’m going to take some time to see if I can get a short list to ‘present’ to my husband, he is getting to be quite picky and I can’t find any logic in what names he likes.
I really like [name]Lucia[/name] and [name]Isla[/name], [name]Danica[/name] is really interesting too although I’m not sure if my husband will like it because it’s really rare.
[name]Vera[/name] is one of my great-aunt’s names so I associate it with a grandmotherly type, otherwise it’s a really nice name.
I hear you on [name]Vera[/name] having an old-ish quality. It is a name with a lot of powerful family meaning to me so I would probably like it no matter what its sound, though. Names like that keep cycling back in too, like (to my taste) [name]Iris[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name] in particular. I do think [name]Vera[/name] is made a little younger by [name]Vera[/name] Wang and [name]Vera[/name] [name]Bradley[/name]. I also, perhaps oddly, know two little girls (not in the family) with the name so that helps : D.
[name]Glad[/name] you like [name]Lucia[/name] and [name]Isla[/name]! [name]Danica[/name] is pretty uncommon, you’re right, although the nickname [name]Dani[/name] is pretty familiar from [name]Danielle[/name] if you like the nickname / like nicknames in general. Fingers crossed your husband likes some suggestion from this thread that you also like!
