Stefani and Natali

I just saw an article about Lady Gaga’s (born [name]Stefani[/name]) sister Natali. I really dislike these spellings and feel like i endings make them too matchy for a sib set. I was curious if any of you guys liked these as much or better than [name]Stephanie[/name] and [name]Natalie[/name]. I can see having a unique spelling being a benefit or at least neutral for someone who’s famous, but I’d think for anyone else it would be a lifetime of correcting people.

I think it’s in the movie babymama she names her kid stefani. HAHA.

[name]Tad[/name] different, and totally legit, but I don’t mind [name]Stefanie[/name]. No different to [name]Seraphina[/name] v [name]Serafina[/name] in that case.

But as for [name]Stefani[/name] and Natali, it’s not only the spelling, but changes the prn imo. Like [name]Stefani[/name] like [name]Gwen[/name] [name]Stefani[/name] and Na-taa-li

[name]Stefani[/name], because of [name]Baby[/name] Mama - and other reasons sounds a little cheap. Natali - same.

Prefer [name]Stefania[/name] and [name]Natalya[/name]. Different but solid.

I really love [name]Natania[/name] (na-tan-ya) but not Natali really.

I kind of like Natali, but I dislike [name]Stefani[/name]. I think it changes the pronounciation too much and looks cheap.

I had wondered about the pronunciation issue, especially for [name]Stefani[/name]. And I agree, it’s not so much the f that throws me off as the lack of an e. [name]Stefanie[/name] wouldn’t cause me the same pronunciation questions.

There was a girl a grade or two ahead of me in high school whose last name ended in -ee and her first name was [name]Mandee[/name]. It was clear they spelled it like that to try to be cutesy and that’s just so nms.

I say stick with the traditional and lovely spellings.

They’re of Italian descent, right? I assume their names are supposed to be pronounced nah-TALL-ee and ste-[name]FAWN[/name]-ee

I [name]LOVE[/name] Natali - but it has to do with the pronunciation in Spanish - one of my faves
