I currently have a daughter named [name]Stella[/name] and am considering naming my new baby [name]Elsa[/name]. Are those names too similar for sisters? The girls are 4 years apart in age. What do you think?
Thanks.

i think the sound of the names is very similar…though I think [name]Stella[/name] and [name]Elsie[/name] sounds adorable together!
they are a bit close, I would just be worried that I’d constantly get tongue tied!
[name]Elise[/name] might be a viable alternative, or perhaps [name]Eloise[/name]
However if nothing else feels right, the [name]Elsa[/name] and [name]Stella[/name] certainly go together
I love both names! They are very similar, but that doesn’t bug me too much. I think if you named her [name]Elsa[/name], but called her [name]Elsie[/name], it wouldn’t be a problem at all.
I love both these names!
I don’t think the names are inherently too similar however I do see potential confusion in the prominent “el” sounds in both names. I think the most important question to answer for yourself is whether the similar sounds would bother you in day-to-day life: if you called your kids on the playground would you get tongue-tied?
I think they are a little close. Have you considered the more unusual [name]Ailsa[/name]? It has just a little bit of a different sound.
A little too close I think.
I love both names, but I think they’re way too close. You could name her [name]Elisabeth[/name] or [name]Elspeth[/name] and try out calling her [name]Elsa[/name], and if it’s too confusing switch to [name]Elisabeth[/name] or [name]Libby[/name] or [name]Lizzie[/name] or whatever.
I think they are little too similar. After all you can make the name [name]Elsa[/name] from the letters in [name]Stella[/name]. I like the previous posters suggestions of using [name]Elisabeth[/name] and calling her [name]Elsa[/name] as a nn.
Here are some names with a similar feeling as [name]Elsa[/name]:
[name]Ada[/name]
[name]Alina[/name]
[name]Nola[/name]
[name]Greta[/name]
[name]Celia[/name]
[name]Rena[/name]

Thanks for all your input and suggestions. I’ll keep working on the name. Maybe I’m just not there yet.
