Stella Mackenzie

I’ve had [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] on my full list for many months, and am only now starting to really fall in love with it…there’s just a slight potential problem being that [name_f]Stella[/name_f] means “star” and [name_m]New[/name_m] Zealand has a Dark [name_u]Sky[/name_u] Reserve in the middle of the [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] Region (the reserve is famous for it’s amazing stargazing opportunities)

[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t get me wrong, I love the association, but I just wonder if it’s perhaps a bit much? Name meaning star + stargazing hotspot?

What do you think?

I dont think its an issue
Most people would know her as just [name_f]Stella[/name_f], and even if they did know her middle name I doubt theyd know that [name_f]Stella[/name_f] means star, and its not like [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] is uncommon (in the US at least)

I don’t think it’s an issue, same as pp said, I don’t think people will make the connection. I don’t normally like [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u], it sounds very American to me (I’m in Australia) but [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] is beautiful!

Like PPs have said, it seems far fetched to think that someone will analyze her name and assume she was named after the stargazing spot. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] is adorable.

I don’t see a problem

I think it is totally fine! [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] did come to mind as an alternative, if you are still having trouble with the association. Other ideas ~
