I adore both [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f]! Both have a bright simplicity, travel well across countries, and avoid spelling/pronunciation confusion.

[name_f]Alice[/name_f] feels more classic and grand to me, while still retaining an innocence and sweetness that probably comes from its literary associations. Although it seems to be gaining in popularity, it’s a classic name that will never feel faddish or too trendy. It’s been on my list for some time.

[name_f]Stella[/name_f] feels slightly more trendy to me. It has a more glamorous, vintage Hollywood vibe (I think because my biggest association with it is the wonderful character in [name_u]Tennessee[/name_u] Williams’s play, “A Streetcar Named Desire”). But its meaning is so lovely, and I think the name truly sparkles. [name_f]My[/name_f] only reservation with [name_f]Stella[/name_f], is it closeness to a lot of the “Elle/Ella” names. But I think it is different enough that it wouldn’t get too mixed in.

If I had to choose one, my pick would likely be [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. But I love them both, so it’s a hard choice to make!

I think they both have a great deal of appeal–I love them both. Both vintage, both feminine, both elegant. If I compared [name_f]Alice[/name_f] to a pearl and [name_f]Stella[/name_f] to a sapphire, would that make sense? Equally gorgeous. Depends on preference. For me, it would be [name_f]Stella[/name_f].

I’d personally choose [name_f]Stella[/name_f]!

A few years ago, I probably would’ve gone for [name_f]Stella[/name_f]. It has a beautiful, vintage yet spitfire feel to it. However, as with [name_u]Hazel[/name_u], the name absolutely blew up in popularity. It went from having that one in a million feel to being one of a million. Okay, that’s a bit dramatic and popularity may not matter much in the grand scheme of things, but that’s what personally deterred me from considering [name_f]Stella[/name_f].

[name_f]Alice[/name_f] reminds me of a most gentle shade of blue. I could see [name_f]Alice[/name_f] as being anything she wants to be, so I can’t pinpoint one specific vibe. I could see [name_f]Alice[/name_f] being the girl with her nose in a book. I could see her fighting for causes. I could see her being president.

I choose [name_f]Alice[/name_f].

[name_f]Stella[/name_f] for me. I like the bright, warm feel, the way it feels fresh but established and the star meaning.

I do like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] too - light and sweet but strong too - but for me, [name_f]Stella[/name_f] just has a little more shine

i prefer stella

I love both of them, they are both great names and I feel like they can age well and fit any sort of person.

[name_f]My[/name_f] personal favorite is [name_f]Stella[/name_f]!

[name_f]Stella[/name_f]: [name_f]Stella[/name_f] is one of my all time favorite names unfortunately I will never be able to use it. I love seeing it on other peoples lists. To me [name_f]Stella[/name_f] is sweet and a bit spunky. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] gives me lots of nature images, specifically a field of wildflowers. I imagine a free spirited and adventurous girl with this name.

[name_f]Alice[/name_f]: [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is lovely! [name_f]Alice[/name_f] reminds me of [name_f]Alice[/name_f] in wonderland which I personally think is a good association. I imagine a little girl who loves to read and is a daydreamer.

Thank you! [name_f]Alice[/name_f] does feel a little less trendy than [name_f]Stella[/name_f], although I’ve only ever met one of each. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] feels quite 1940’s 50’s aesthetic for me which I love, as well as the [name_u]Anne[/name_u] of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables connection. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] feels more classic and less vintage, and the imagery is a little less easy for me to come up with. I do think [name_f]Stella[/name_f] could be a bit close to Ella/Bella, but for me the St start feels distinctive enough that I don’t really lump those names in with [name_f]Stella[/name_f].
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] is really nice, and objectively lovely, I just need to learn to love it.

That makes a lot of sense! [name_f]Stella[/name_f] feels more sparkling than [name_f]Alice[/name_f], but they’re both lovely and vintage feeling.

[name_f]Alice[/name_f] definitely. Feels more like a classic… I like names that begin with vowels, especially A. It would be nice paired with a middle name beginning with a vowel. That always flows nicely. Maybe something like……
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Estella[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]

I prefer short, crisp, spunky, and enduring [name_f]Alice[/name_f]!

A truly timeless classic in my opinion and it straddles the boundary between super girlish and not very feminine quite well. Also has beautiful variants and older/original variations.
Aside from all this, [name_f]Stella[/name_f] is a bit too trendy nowadays for my liking, it is an attractive name I’ve just heard too much of it growing up

[name_f]Stella[/name_f] because I see lice ending in [name_f]Alice[/name_f] but still pretty and love nn ally

Oh this is a tough one as I love both ! In my circles [name_f]Stella[/name_f] is more popular, which is usually a deterrent for me. However the beautiful simplicity of [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is so alluring

I think with my older kids name in mind I would err on the side of [name_f]Alice[/name_f]

[name_f]Alice[/name_f]! [name_f]Stella[/name_f] is also cool but seems trendier, as others have pointed out.

[name_f]Alice[/name_f]. It’s a clean and lovely sound, enamel blue. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] is sultry, slightly femme fatale, which isn’t my vibe.

[name_f]Alice[/name_f], a tad bit more classic

I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] better, I think it’s just because I hear [name_f]Stella[/name_f] so much and I don’t personally know any little girls named [name_f]Alice[/name_f].

I think theyre both great. For me I would probably choose [name_f]Alice[/name_f] as it still feels vintage, whet [name_f]Stella[/name_f] is so popular in my area it feels much more modern
