[name]Tessa[/name], definitely. [name]Robby[/name], [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Tess[/name]/[name]Tessa[/name] are brilliant together. Not a fan of [name]Stella[/name], it sounds too old-lady to me, plus she’ll be lost in the [name]Elle[/name]/[name]Ellie[/name]/[name]Ella[/name] rhyming crowd. [name]Tessa[/name]'s spunky, has that vintage-fresh feel and stands out without being too out there.
I vote [name]Tessa[/name]
I love them both, but [name]Tessa[/name]/[name]Tess[/name] has more wow factor for me…I really love so much about that name!
I think [name]Robby[/name], violet and [name]Tess[/name] are an absolutely adorable combo, too. I think [name]Stella[/name] would be just as nice, I kind of go back and forth which one is my favorite!
I know [name]Stella[/name] is more popular but I’ve always felt [name]Tessa[/name] was a little incomplete, it sounds like a shortening of another name ([name]IMO[/name]) and [name]Stella[/name] has great character and spunk as well as history. So I vote for [name]Stella[/name]
I adore [name]Tessa[/name]/[name]Tess[/name] but just hear it merging into Violetessa… which ain’t so pretty! [name]Stella[/name] is another strong name and I know a sibset called [name]Stella[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name]. Good luck!
I like [name]Stella[/name], for its meaning as well as its history as an independent name. [name]Tessa[/name] has a pleasant sound but it’s just a diminutive of [name]Theresa[/name], which I prefer.
I do like [name]Stella[/name], but find the lengthened forms more glamorous and elegant, particularly [name]Estelle[/name].
I voted for [name]Tessa[/name]! I love its spunky girl image! I know a girl named [name]Tessa[/name] and she just owned it! I also like [name]Stella[/name] but at my dance studio every other girl is named something with elle in it. There is [name]Isabel[/name], [name]Estelle[/name], Jasmabelle… the list just goes on! I say go with [name]Tessa[/name] [name]Daphne[/name] - a very sophisticated choice.
They’re both lovely, but [name]Stella[/name] is so adorable and happy, [name]Tessa[/name] can sound a bit sulky. And [name]Stella[/name] literally means star, how beautiful is that. I also like [name]Estelle[/name] and [name]Stelle[/name].
I really like both, but I think I slightly prefer [name]Stella[/name], especially [name]Stella[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]!
Definitely [name]Stella[/name]. It’s serious but has a dreamy, ethereal feel. [name]Tessa[/name] feels kiddie because it’s not a full name, just a nn.
Thanks berries! Loving the feedback and votes. Helps tremendously And very much appreciated. Hmmm, so I think what I like about [name]Stella[/name] just a bit more over [name]Tessa[/name] is that I feel it has more quirk. I was trying to put my finger on why I lean a little towards this one and I think that’s it. I like [name]Tessa[/name], so very much. It has a gorgeous sound and isn’t too popular at all. But I love the meaning of [name]Stella[/name]. It has a nature meaning and I really like that with [name]Violet[/name]. All about the subtle nature theme. [name]Tessa[/name] [name]Daphne[/name] has that in the middle though so that’s cool too. I don’t know, I enjoy them both but the poll leans towards [name]Stella[/name]. That is so helpful to me!!!
Oh and I agree, sometimes [name]Tessa[/name] sounds nicknamey to me also. I can deal with that though because I think nn [name]Tess[/name] more than makes up for it, yet I still get my A ending name ;). But [name]Stella[/name] feels like it has just a bit more character maybe? Not sure, I really do like them both. Haha
Bump! [name]Kinda[/name] leaning towards [name]Tessa[/name] [name]Daphne[/name] nn [name]Tess[/name] at the moment ;). But I love [name]Stella[/name] too, haha. So much personality and love the meaning star
This is tough. I prefer [name]Stella[/name] for the meaning (so great!), but [name]Tessa[/name] for the name itself, I think. I’ve been meeting a few little [name]Stella[/name]'s, but have yet to meet a [name]Tessa[/name] (I do know one little girl who’s middle name is [name]Tess[/name]), so [name]Tessa[/name] does seem to be the more striking and unexpected choice to me. The one thing that really holds me back from loving [name]Tessa[/name] is the fact that it’s a nickname for [name]Theresa[/name], but that doesn’t seem to bother you.
If I were to imagine how I would picture little girls with these names, I’d envision [name]Stella[/name] as outwardly spunky and fairly “girly” and [name]Tessa[/name] as deceptively demure with sharp wit and strong beliefs. I hope that helps!
[name]Tessa[/name]…I am planning to write my own post about this name. However, I would like to recommend it. This is my daughter’s name, and the built-in one-syllable nickname is really important. Nob sure if this happens in your family, but in mine, all names are reduced to one syllable and [name]Tess[/name] is perfect. [name]Stella[/name] is nice, but this is my big problem with it. They both sound like kind of semi-feminine, semi-tough names to me, which I like.
this is totally off-topic, but how do you link the names? I am new to posting here.
Thanks!
This is pretty funny because at work I sit right beside 2 ladies with these names
Not considering the women, I prefer the name [name]Tessa[/name], though [name]Stella[/name] feels more like a complete name.
Ballerina Bellarina, [name]Tessa[/name] [name]Daphne[/name] is gorgeous. I like both name very much, and even though I prefer [name]Stella[/name] I still think [name]Tessa[/name] is very beautiful. It sounds great with [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Roddy[/name]. I think both these choices are beautiful, and isn’t it great to have two names to take to the delivery room?
Aw thanks!! Gosh the feedback and descriptions are wonderfully helpful. Thank you berries for the added input :). Yeah I think I will have to take both to the delivery room. I do want to make one the number one though. [name]Just[/name] in case all that pain makes me not think straight! But hmmm, [name]Tessa[/name] daphne, it just feels more “me” at times. A little softer and sweet then [name]Stella[/name]. I love [name]Stella[/name] for the meaning and the sass, but I might like [name]Tessa[/name] better for her sound. And for me, that’s probably most important. Plus it’s still old fashioned especially with [name]Tess[/name].
That’s interesting how some of you girls know little [name]Stella[/name]'s! It is in the top 100 in my state too. I fear it might also blend to all the [name]Ella[/name] names. [name]Tessa[/name] doesn’t have that issue. I have never met a baby with either name but the show suburgatory that I watched last night just got me pining for [name]Tessa[/name] again!!!
There’s the amazing classic novel [name]Tess[/name] of the d’Urbervilles if you need some more “weight” behind [name]Tessa[/name].
