We are having another little girl! I have been calling her [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and feel like that’s her name, BUT I’m also kind of wavering now. We know a LOT of little [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]'s in our circle of friends/acquaintances, but if we really love the name, then I don’t mind using it still. DH has thrown [name_f]Stella[/name_f] back on to the table. Any thoughts? Choices are:
PS I’m aware of the [name_f]Honor[/name_f]/[name_u]Haven[/name_u] connection but most people won’t get that unless they are obsessed with names like I am.
DH also like [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] with nn [name_f]Evvie[/name_f], but I’m feeling over that one now…
It would help to know the surname or else details about it - how many syllables, what does it start and end with, etc.
I think any of the names you mention would work well with your children’s names - they feel stylistically similar but none sounds too much like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_m]Colt/name_m. I’d probably be partial to [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], which I’d consider nicknaming to [name_f]Neve[/name_f], but if you’re not into it, you’re not into it.
I don’t know the [name_f]Honor[/name_f]/[name_u]Haven[/name_u] connection but a) I think it’d be sweet for the sisters to have a subtle connection via their middle names, and b) most of the time middle names don’t see a lot of use anyway, so I don’t imagine the connection would be noticeable to most people.
Only you and your husband can say whether you think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] has been overused in your area already… if I knew a few little Lucys already I’d probably want to go with something that would sound fresher, but if you still find you’re drawn to it anyway and you don’t really mind its popularity, maybe it’s the name for you. You might or might not also prefer a [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] variant, like [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] or [name_f]Luciana[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] or something that would be a bit different from [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] but would still get you to the [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] nickname.
I’m not a fan of either of them but I prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] over [name_f]Stella[/name_f], mostly because I really like the combo [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_u]Haven[/name_u]. Also, I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] sounds perfect with [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_m]Colt[/name_m]/[name_m]Colter[/name_m].
I love [name_f]Stella[/name_f]. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is a bit cutesy for me. I prefer [name_u]Haven[/name_u] to [name_f]Mercy[/name_f] though. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_u]Haven[/name_u]? For virtue names I also love [name_f]Verity[/name_f]. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] would be nice too. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Mercy[/name_f] is lovely tho.
All 3 options are nice with [name_f]Violet[/name_f]!
