So, My little boy is due in 8 weeks.
For the last few months I have been set on [name]Sterling[/name] [name]Robert[/name](family name)
Last night I came across the name [name]Spencer[/name] and it got my attention.
What do you guys think:
[name]Spencer[/name] [name]Robert[/name] Sims
[name]Sterling[/name] [name]Robert[/name] Sims
OR
Is there another similar name you think would steal my heart?
Im aware of the double R’s with [name]Spencer[/name] [name]Robert[/name], but I dont think It sounds bad.
I love [name]Spencer[/name], personally. I think it sounds better with your surname, even though [name]Spencer[/name] [name]Robert[/name] doesn’t sound quite as good.
[name]Do[/name] you think [name]Spencer[/name]'s just a passing fad, something new and interesting? I’m just a little bit afraid that you’d feel like you missed out on your true love ([name]Sterling[/name]) for the new, flashy name. Either would be fabulous, though.
Well, I think [name]Spencer[/name] Sims is a lot of S for one boy. [name]Sterling[/name] is very sweet and makes me think of shining silver and one of the most gentlemanly people I know whose name is [name]Sterling[/name].
[name]Cedric[/name]
[name]Edgar[/name]
[name]Isaac[/name]
[name]Duncan[/name] (stolen from [name]Ottilie[/name])
[name]Dorian[/name]
I like [name]Sterling[/name], it’s very beautiful. I think [name]Spencer[/name] is nice too though, and I love the suggestion of [name]Solomon[/name] and [name]Sullivan[/name].
[name]Spencer[/name] isn’t really new to me. I knew a boy named [name]Spencer[/name] when I was younger, just now considered it for my son…
honestly, I had a dream I had my baby and in the dream his name was [name]Spencer[/name]. So, I just can’t decided.
[name]Sterling[/name] was definitely my first love, but I’ve kind of fallen for [name]Spencer[/name]
I vote [name]Sterling[/name] [name]Robert[/name]. I grew up with a few Sterlings (Small southern town. Family name. Totally unusual anywhere else) and they were all innately wonderful guys, whereas [name]Spencer[/name] has unpleasant yuppie connotations to me.
Hmm. I’m kinda torn. [name]Sterling[/name] is super cool, but doesn’t have great nickname possibilities, which always deters me from a name. [name]Spencer[/name] is great, but does seem to have a bit of the “yuppie connotations” pp mentioned. Then there’s that dumb [name]Spencer[/name] [name]Pratt[/name]. Ew.
But, I knew a [name]Spencer[/name] in college (before all that came into pop culture), and I thought it was such a great name at the time. It’s boyishly-cute, yet somehow takes on a masculine adult tone well, too, I think.
ETA: [name]Just[/name] saw that your last name is Sims. I don’t think I can endorse a [name]Spencer[/name] Sims. Too many “S” sounds. [name]Sterling[/name] Sims is much more workable.
[name]Sterling[/name] is so underrated. It is such a beautiful name. [name]Sterling[/name] [name]Robert[/name] sounds great, to me. [name]Spencer[/name] has been way over used where I live. I would love to meet a [name]Sterling[/name] instead
I think [name]Sterling[/name] is an absolute stand-out. Very striking, and the phonetics work better. Choose your first love, and ignore those last-minute pregnancy jitters.
Another vote for [name]Sterling[/name] [name]Robert[/name] Sims. You say [name]Sterling[/name] is the name you’ve been set on, and that’s the name you should use.
DH just suggested a nn. Sting. Not sure if it is your style or not but just a thought. He also says that [name]Sterling[/name] [name]Robert[/name] Sims sounds like an authors name, if that counts for anything.
[name]Sterling[/name] is so special and interesting and [name]Spencer[/name] is so blah that it isn’t even a choice for me. [name]Sterling[/name] all the way. As for nicknames, I don’t really see the need for something directly from his name. I’m a big fan of nicknames like Monkey, [name]Sonny[/name], [name]Bubba[/name], etc but those aren’t for everyone.
