Maybe it’s the pregnancy hormones, but I suddenly am not happy at all with the name we picked out for our son, [name]August[/name] [name]Evander[/name], and I’m not fond of the other two we had on our list ([name]Dexter[/name] [name]Leopold[/name] and [name]Theo[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name]); they just don’t appeal to me at all anymore (too blah, too nerdy, too lispy-sounding). We were all set on putting [name]August[/name] on the birth certificate, I do not think I could be okay with giving my son any of those names at this moment or when he’s born. My husband, even though he really likes [name]August[/name], said that we could scrap those and come up with a new list.
However, that’s easier said than done. After a few days of searching, I’ve only found two first names that I really like.
[name]Milo[/name]–I just rediscovered [name]Milo[/name], and I adore it; I’m not even sure why, but there’s something about it that just exudes warmth and intelligence and fun, exactly what we’re looking for. But we have a daughter named [name]Maeve[/name]. Is this enough to not use [name]Milo[/name]?
[name]Jasper[/name]–We have a son named [name]Edward[/name], though he’s [name]Ned[/name] to everyone. Is it too much, considering the Twilight craze?
Middle names:
[name]Augustus[/name]–this would be a great compromise, but it’s a bit stuffy sounding and there’s the [name]Augustus[/name] Gloop connotation.
[name]Indigo[/name]–this has been a guilty pleasure of mine for years now, and I love it to death. Is it way too out there?
[name]Caspian[/name]
[name]Rafferty[/name]
Gah. I sometimes wish we were having a girl because there are so many gorgeous names out there–in fact, we’ve had our girl name for months now, on the off-chance he comes out a she ([name]Penelope[/name] [name]Astrid[/name], nickname [name]Lola[/name]). Boys names are ridiculous.
So, I guess the whole POINT of this is to ask for suggestions. Please help us!
Oh, and our other kids are [name]Felix[/name], [name]Olive[/name], [name]Maeve[/name], [name]Sunny[/name], and [name]Ned[/name], if that helps.
