[name_m]Hi[/name_m] again! So our other thread didn’t/isn’t exactly turning out how we expected, mainly due to my horrible explanation skills. I’m hoping this may help better. Here is a more organized (I hope) view of what we want.
[ul]
[/ul]
From our last thread we sort of liked [name_f]Luciana[/name_f] “[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]/[name_f]Lulu[/name_f]” and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] “[name_f]Zuzu[/name_f]” but have officially thrown out [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] because of the alliteration with our last name and we just don’t love [name_f]Luciana[/name_f]. Normally we don’t like nicknames, but in the case of these two we liked the nicknames and they just happened to work out with [name_f]Luciana[/name_f] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]. If that is the case with a different name then that is fine but we don’t want to focus on finding a name with a nickname. We also like picking out the nicknames on or own rather than someone telling us which nickname to use
Please keep in mind all of those factors when giving suggestions. We don’t want common or suspected names like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], etc. (they are nice but not what we want). I hope this gives a better idea of what we want!!
[name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] were some from our other thread that are close but don’t give us that “special” feeling. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] has been growing on me but I don’t like it with [name_f]Jeanne[/name_f], sorry!
[name_f]Liv[/name_f] stood out to us from that post; we’d definitely use the pronunciation “gee-[name_f]ANN[/name_f]” for [name_f]Jeanne[/name_f] if we used it. We also thought [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] was pretty interesting
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] is pretty, but [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] [name_f]Jeanne[/name_f] is way too close to the coffee shop [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]'s
Please do not choose your own pronunciation for [name_f]Jeanne[/name_f]. It will definitely be “[name_u]Jean[/name_u]” or “gee-[name_f]ANN[/name_f]” which we will decide which we think sounds best with whichever first name we choose.
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] was another from our first thread that was close but didn’t fit what we wanted. We looked at those websites and were surprised by a few that we like; [name_f]India[/name_f] (this one really surprised us), [name_u]Arie[/name_u], [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f], [name_f]Viva[/name_f], [name_u]Marian[/name_u]/[name_u]Marion[/name_u], [name_f]Imelda[/name_f], [name_f]Enola[/name_f], and [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] (I believe it had already been suggested but it has now grown on us)
Maybe you can list a few names and tell us what you like and what you dislike about them.
Like for [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] you might like the -mina part but not the [name_m]Will[/name_m]- one.
It might be a bit too long, too many syllables, etc.
It’ll be easier for us to look for more fitting names if we have an idea what you don’t like about certain names!
From those links we like [name_u]Penrose[/name_u], [name_f]Viviana[/name_f]/[name_f]Vivianna[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], [name_f]Thisbe[/name_f], and [name_f]Noor[/name_f] (a little iffy on this one yet) not including some of the ones from our other comment such as [name_u]Marian[/name_u]/[name_u]Marion[/name_u].
I’ll try to best describe what it is that we don’t like!
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]- the -mina kind of throws us off as well as the spelling
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]- we don’t like the look of “[name_m]Cord[/name_m]”
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]- the food-connection
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]- same as above
[name_f]Georgiana[/name_f]- don’t like the sound of it with [name_f]Jeanne[/name_f]
Maybe you like [name_f]Noura[/name_f]? It’s a variation of [name_f]Noor[/name_f].
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like any other [name_f]Rose[/name_f] names?
Instead of [name_f]Olive[/name_f], do you like [name_f]Livia[/name_f]?
[name_f]Clementina[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]?
[name_f]Odelia[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]?
[name_f]Mariana[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f]? Or just [name_f]Marina[/name_f]?
[name_f]Wilma[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]?
Some names with a [name_m]Luc[/name_m]- beginning:
[name_u]Luca[/name_u], [name_f]Lucasta[/name_f], Lucea, [name_f]Lucetta[/name_f], [name_f]Lucette[/name_f], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f], [name_f]Lucilla[/name_f], [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f], [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], [name_f]Lucina[/name_f], [name_f]Lucine[/name_f], [name_f]Lucrecia[/name_f], [name_f]Lucretia[/name_f], [name_f]Lucrezia[/name_f]
Hmmm. [name_f]May[/name_f] I just point out that a lot of the names you seem to like don’t really fit the style you described? [name_f]Thisbe[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] and [name_f]Noor[/name_f] in particular feel more edgy/bold than vintage to me. Maybe broadening your criteria could help.
And I feel like pretty much every name I can think of has been suggested already, so sorry in advance for repeats:
