We love them both … Most of you liked [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] but does the naming of the royal baby ([name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]) change your mind?? Is it now better or worse to choose [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]?
I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is already pretty popular (#11 is US), so I don’t think it really changes anything. If anything I think it almost adds some validity to the beauty of the name
I dislike [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] so my choice is clear. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] would be nice though.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] has been popular for such a long time, I don’t think [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] will change it’s popularity much.
FWIW, I think little girls will love that they share a [name_f]Princess[/name_f]’ name.
(I think one can only be glad they chose such a popular name, imagine them choosing something 700+ which will then jump up 500 places and only be associated with the royal baby).
I agree with other posters. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is top ten in many countries at the moment, Australia included, but it’s not necessarily a bad thing. [name_m]Little[/name_m] girls love princesses. In truth, I was glad they didn’t use [name_f]Alice[/name_f], I probably wouldn’t be as forgiving.
Congrats! Both are lovely. I personally like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] more than [name_f]Claire[/name_f], and [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] more than [name_f]Ann[/name_f], so [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] would be my pick!
I don’t think [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] will change anything; [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] has been destined for the US top 10 for a few years. It’s a lovely name. I prefer it over [name_f]Claire[/name_f].
[name_m]Prince[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]'s birth didn’t affect the popularity of [name_m]George[/name_m], so I doubt [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] will cause [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] to rise higher - it’s already a very popular name! I would choose [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] myself, it’s popular for a reason, after all!
I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]! I don’t think the princess would persuade or dissuade me from using it–I loved it long before, and I’ll love it long after. Besides, I agree with the others–[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] was so popular (internationally!) before the princess was born, so I don’t see it affecting it too much. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] is beautiful, and I’m glad to see you’re going for it!
It doesn’t change anything in my opinion and the fact that your baby girl shares a name with a princess can be a plus. She’ll love it! If you think about it, the princess shares 2 of her three names with one of her cousins ([name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u]) and [name_m]Will[/name_m] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] didn’t care when they named her daughter so why would you?
It’s a elegant, classic name. It’s a good choice!
P.S: both of your combos are good choices. I prefer [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] or [name_f]Anne[/name_f], because [name_f]Ann[/name_f] feels a little incomplete for me, but good names!
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is a beautifull name but I would not name my daughter like that for one reason:
I want her too feel special.
I believe [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is a beautifull name and it is populair for a long time. The prinses association on top of it is too mutch for my taste.
