[name]Haven[/name]'t been on these boards for a couple of months, so I figured I’d start a new thread instead of continuing an old one. I’m expecting Number 4 around [name]June[/name] 1st. My other children are [name]Declan[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] (7), [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] “[name]Mattie[/name]” (3) and [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] (almost 10 months). I’m [name]Meredith[/name], dh is [name]Kyle[/name] and our last name rhymes with Jobs. We haven’t found out the gender and aren’t going to (we did with our first three, but are choosing to be surprised with our last. aka this control freak is freaking out a little bit!).
Anyway, we still haven’t found the “perfect” name. We have so many names that we really like, but are having trouble choosing one. The name will be [name]Sutton[/name] (a family name) for either gender.
Girls:
[name]Ada[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name], would maybe go by [name]Cora[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] “[name]Gigi[/name]”
[name]Luella[/name] “[name]Lulu[/name]”
[name]Do[/name] you want her name to end in an A? Personally i’d say no because then only [name]Juliet[/name]'s (love her name) wouldn’t
[name]Ada[/name]- too close to [name]Matilda[/name] personally, maybe [name]Adeline[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]- pretty, one of my favs out of yours
[name]Cordelia[/name], would maybe go by [name]Cora[/name]- my favorite. if you want an A-ending name, this is my favorite. It has [name]Cora[/name] as a nn which doesnt sound close to [name]Mattie[/name]/[name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] “[name]Gigi[/name]”- not my personally fav
[name]Luella[/name] “[name]Lulu[/name]”- love this too
have you noticed that [name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name]'s 4th letter is an I? You could also continue that. My suggestions would be:
With an I as 4th letter & ending in A:
[name]Calista[/name]
[name]Delilah[/name]
[name]Halina[/name]
Ending in A:
[name]Virginia[/name]
[name]Lyla[/name]
[name]Helena[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name]
[name]Carina[/name]
[name]Rebecca[/name]
Other:
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Coraline[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Isabel[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Willow[/name]
[name]Wren[/name]
Boys:
[name]Adrian[/name]- girly in my opinion
[name]Archer[/name]- I like this
[name]Callum[/name]- this is my favorite of yours because it matches [name]Declan[/name] with the Ls
[name]Luca[/name]- I like this, though personally prefer [name]Luka[/name]
I like your boys names the best. If you want them to coordinate, others with Ls in the 4th letter are:
[name]Finley[/name]
[name]Joel[/name]
Thanks for the feedback. We thought we were set on our “short” list for girls, and now we just added a few. We are beginning to really, really like [name]Aurelia[/name] as of a few days ago. Is it too out there? We also are liking [name]Nola[/name] more and more. The girls side of things is proving to be really difficult.
For boys names, I think we are completely set on [name]Adrian[/name], [name]Archer[/name], [name]Callum[/name] or [name]Luca[/name]. We think they all sound great with [name]Sutton[/name] (the mn). Now we just need to get it down to one instead of four, haha.
Thanks again for the help and PLEASE keep the posts coming!
@myowngildedbutterfly- I meant to mention your post since you gave such a thoughtful, detailed answer. I have noticed the ‘i’ placement in both [name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name], but I haven’t found a name I could see myself using that also has that same pattern. Your list has some lovely choices. I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Elodie[/name] (and [name]Eloise[/name] for that matter) and I really wish we could use it, but with a close cousin [name]Elinor[/name], we can’t. I was also very interested in [name]Aurora[/name] for your list, so me and DH were looking into it and then found (and now really like) [name]Aurelia[/name]. So thank you for that suggestion!
Looking at your list is like looking at my list! Your children have beautiful names ([name]Declan[/name] is my top choice for a boy). From your choices, I think [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Callum[/name] are the nicest, though I also love [name]Ada[/name] and [name]Adrian[/name]…though maybe it’s because all 4 are on my list too Good luck!
Let me start by saying - your kids names are so lovely!
[name]Callum[/name] [name]Sutton[/name] is hands down my choice out of your boys names. It goes so attractive and classy, and goes so well with your other kids names, as well as the mn [name]Sutton[/name].
[name]Adrian[/name] feels very feminine next to me, especially next to handsome, rugged [name]Declan[/name]. [name]Archer[/name] and [name]Luca[/name] are okay, but not as sophisticated as [name]Declan[/name]/[name]Callum[/name] seem to me.
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Cora[/name] [name]Sutton[/name], and I think it would make a stunning contribution to your family. [name]Cordelia[/name] is not a personal favorite, however it is a classic and sophisticated and would go very nicely with your kids names. I also think [name]Clara[/name] [name]Sutton[/name] would be gorgeous, and is my second choice from your list.
[name]Ada[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name] sound too similar for me, same with [name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Georgia[/name]. [name]Luella[/name], personally, lacks the class and distinction of your other kids names and the other names on your list.
[name]Lovely[/name] list! For the girls I really like both [name]Clara[/name] [name]Sutton[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Sutton[/name], and for the boys [name]Callum[/name] [name]Sutton[/name] is my favorite. If you’re still considering [name]Nola[/name], I really love it as a nickname for [name]Magnolia[/name]… Not sure if it’s your style, but just a thought! Good luck
I prefer [name]Adrian[/name] or [name]Callum[/name] for a boy. [name]Adrian[/name] goes best with [name]Sutton[/name] in the middle. They fit best with your other kids names being similar in style without being too close. [name]Luca[/name] is too similar to [name]Declan[/name] in my opinion whereas [name]Archer[/name] is too different in style.
Oh the girls are harder to choose as there are so many sweet names there… my first pick for you would be [name]Clara[/name] because it has the classic feel of your other names without being too elaborate, actually [name]Ada[/name] is perfect as well. I am not a fan of [name]Georgia[/name] but find [name]Georgina[/name] awfully sweet and it has the same [name]Gigi[/name] nn.
Out of the girls I find that [name]Georgia[/name] best complements the other names in style. Also, an alternative nn for [name]Georgia[/name] (especially if she turns out to be more of a tomboy) would be [name]Georgie[/name], which is what everyone in my family calls my cousin (named [name]Georgia[/name]).
[name]Ada[/name]-too short
[name]Clara[/name]-pretty, feminine name, but (in my area at least) there are a ton of [name]Claire[/name]'s, [name]Clara[/name]'s and [name]Clarissa[/name]'s
[name]Aurelia[/name]-I think it’s really unique, but the sound is familiar enough that it’s not too far out. I really like it.
For boys, [name]Archer[/name] is a great name but it seems to differ too much in style in comparison to the names of your other children. [name]Adrian[/name] seems really feminine, especially when put beside [name]Declan[/name].
Thanks for all your input on this! We are set on [name]Callum[/name] [name]Sutton[/name] for a boy, and either [name]Clara[/name] [name]Sutton[/name] or [name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Sutton[/name] for a girl! Any opinions on [name]Clara[/name] vs. [name]Aurelia[/name] are welcome. If we go with [name]Aurelia[/name], we are considering calling her [name]Ari[/name].
Girls:
[name]Aurelia[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] this with the mn and the last name
[name]Ada[/name] - I think this is too short with the mn and the last name
[name]Clara[/name] - pretty but not my favourite
[name]Cordelia[/name], would maybe go by [name]Cora[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]!! I think it is perfect in combo with [name]Sutton[/name] and ‘Jobs’ ln
[name]Georgia[/name] “[name]Gigi[/name]” - [name]LOVE[/name] this as well, same as above
[name]Luella[/name] “[name]Lulu[/name]” - cute, but maybe too cute for me
Tied for favourite for me are [name]Cordelia[/name] and [name]Georgia[/name]. [name]Aurelia[/name] is a close 3rd.
Boys:
[name]Adrian[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] it and I don’t think it’s feminine at all. I find it a very attractive name. I think the 3 syllables would work well with your last name as well.
[name]Archer[/name] - this is great and very strong.
[name]Callum[/name] - nice, goes with [name]Declan[/name].
[name]Luca[/name] - very nice name, but I like the others better!
I love your choice of [name]Callum[/name] [name]Sutton[/name]! It’s great with your other children’s names.
It’s such a tough choice between [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Aurelia[/name], both are perfect with the other names. I think I’d go for [name]Aurelia[/name] because it’s just a little more unusual than [name]Clara[/name].
I like [name]Callum[/name], great choice! I’m not sure what I would choose between [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Aurelia[/name]. Going by sound alone, I would use [name]Clara[/name] because I think it’s so sweet and pretty. It is pretty popular though, so I might go with [name]Aurelia[/name] for that reason. They are both very nice.
