I’ve given names time to percolate and they’ve all faded or just don’t hold up to big brother [name]James[/name] [name]Hamilton[/name]. While I still want [name]Silas[/name] Ehrhardt, I have to have an alternative if DH really won’t budge even after he watches me go through labor (and yes, I will play the labor card. Wrong? Maybe!).
– Whatever may have been in the running must not be great because I don’t recall most of them! I strongly prefer one name to be a family name, but I don’t have one that fits the bill. Closest at this point is my maiden name, [name]Perkins[/name]. Maybe [name]Perkins[/name] and [name]Hamilton[/name] are pretty well equal, except that I wish I had a 3-syllable name to use!

Perkinson is interesting, worth consideration! I also like [name]Elias[/name] and [name]Solomon[/name]. I like [name]Bellamy[/name] in theory, but would probably like it better on a girl. [name]Barnaby[/name] or [name]Barnabas[/name] maybe?
I’m a big fan of the show [name]Archer[/name] (its animated sort of adult cartoon about a spy) and his fn is [name]Sterling[/name], I like the names together but it would probably remind people of the show
Dh brought up the name again! He’s not committed to [name]Archer[/name], especially since I told him I am leaning toward mn [name]Perkins[/name]. He tried to assert [name]Augustus[/name] as THE name, but I didn’t budge on [name]Silas[/name]. Finally, he might have gotten flustered and suggested [name]Silas[/name] [name]Augustus[/name]! I doubt he’ll admit that later, but I can try to hold him to it, it is the ONLY time he has [name]EVER[/name] given an inch on [name]Silas[/name].
** I like [name]Archer[/name] [name]Perkins[/name] so that’ll be on the list to help guide him back to [name]Silas[/name] [name]Augustus[/name] (which by then I hope to get changed at least to [name]Augustine[/name] to cut down on all the ‘s’ sounds!)
** I admit, I like the sibset James Hamilton and Archer Perkins better than James Hamilton and Silas Augustine, but I guess if I get Silas I have to give Dh a “Gus” name. He is so hell bent on nicknaming the baby Gus. (I still hate it though). Dh’s sore about nicknames because, while I agreed to James, I have absolutely at all times rejected ANYONE calling him Jim or Jimmy, but he really wanted to call him Jim. I said that Jim can be his super secret daddy’s nickname that no one else gets to use, but by now he IS James and Not Jim (yay!!!) so I successfully thwarted that plan.
** Silas Augustine would be a good name imo, even if it isn’t the exact name I really want.
DH mentioned [name]Gavin[/name]. I really like the meaning “white hawk” and Celtic origin (my paternal heritage includes Scottish as does my husband’s). However, [name]Gavin[/name] has a different “vibe” than I consider to be my style. That being said, I’ve never met a [name]Gavin[/name] to color my opinion of the name in any other sense. Compared to [name]Archer[/name] and [name]Silas[/name], wdyt of [name]Gavin[/name]?
