Here comes a rant….
Week 35 today and still feeling stuck on what name to pick for my daughter. [name_f]My[/name_f] partner and I dont love the same names, well its more he said no to some names I really like. If it really vane down to it I could pick any name and he would be ok with it but I want us both to love or at least really like the name.
Middle names are not set in stone yet but will be honor names/have cultural meaning so I am not looking for any combos right now, just the perfect first name.
Partners top 5:
- [name_f]Kendra[/name_f]
- Amarine
- [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
- [name_u]Alix[/name_u]
- [name_f]Aretha[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] top 5:
- [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
- [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
- [name_f]Amandine[/name_f]
- [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f]
- [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]
Looking at the lists it would seemJuliette would be the obvious choice. Only problem is it rhymes with one on the honor names we most likely will choose and my partner is very set on.
Amarine and [name_f]Amandine[/name_f] will most likely be misspronounced at the first try around here so might not be a great idea. Same with [name_f]Aretha[/name_f] and Im worried its so tied to one, although amazing, woman.
[name_f]My[/name_f] family finds [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f] frumpy. [name_f]Kendra[/name_f] makes me think about the playboy mansion, I think.
Not really sure about [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] and [name_u]Alix[/name_u] might be too close to my own name.
Oh why is this so hard?
Help pls!

For you guys I love Julianna, Amabelle or Arabelle or Kenna, or even Julietta
I think [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is still a good choice-you won’t be saying full name all the time after all. [name_f]Julietta[/name_f] might be a similiar but less rhymey option!
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] is lovely!
A couple of ideas:
[name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_f]Alicia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alessia[/name_f]
[name_f]Marina[/name_f]
[name_f]Leandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Verity[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f]

[name_f]Julietta[/name_f] is an option but I dont find it as elegant as I find [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_u]Kenna[/name_u] is interesting. I have been contemplating [name_u]Senna[/name_u] and I like [name_f]Selah[/name_f] (but my partner thinks it sounds like Seller in his english dialect)

[name_f]Alicia[/name_f] is too popular here for my taste, pretty name thou.
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] has been on my list and [name_f]Marina[/name_f] on my partners. Sadly I think [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] is out
Funny you mentioned [name_f]Leandra[/name_f] since our son was almost named [name_m]Leander[/name_m]
I really like [name_f]Athena[/name_f] but the prononcation could be a bit butchered here, hmmm
Thank you so much, many good suggestions

Perhaps [name_u]Kendall[/name_u] instead of [name_f]Kendra[/name_f]?
Julianne/Julianna/Julienne instead of [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]?

[name_u]Julianne[/name_u] or [name_f]Julianna[/name_f] maybe? Feels similiar to your partner’s Amarine sound. And still has that lovely elegant [name_f]Julia[/name_f] up front.
Names which feel like they have a mix of the letters between your likes and his.
[name_f]Jemima[/name_f]
Jamelia
Other ideas
[name_f]Althea[/name_f] such a lovely meaning too
[name_f]Thalia[/name_f]
I really like names with the -ette ending but the name we really like to use as a one of her middle names also ends in -ette.
[name_u]Kendall[/name_u] is a sweet name but too Kardashian for me
[name_u]Amaris[/name_u] is a name we both like but we hestitate because pronunciation issues.
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f] is wonderful and I would use it in a heartbeat of it wasnt the exact way you say Dolphine here Been think about [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] thou
I do like Jamelia!
[name_f]Althea[/name_f] is nice but I dont like [name_f]Thea[/name_f] for a nickname, its very bland to me
[name_f]Thalia[/name_f] is really growing on me!

I wonder if your husband will like Jamelia? It means [name_f]Beautiful[/name_f] and it’s underused whilst still elegant I think.
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f] Capulet had a rhyming name…

Asked him and will see what he says about it

Perhaps the honor name could be altered slightly so that it doesn’t rhyme with Juliette…?
What about [name_f]Amanda[/name_f]? [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_f]Amabel[/name_f]?
[name_f]Amanda[/name_f] is to common here for my taste and -belle names is not really for me even thou [name_f]Amabelle[/name_f] is pretty
That is a thought but I havent found any that is both close and sounds good.
Maybe we will have to reconsider the honor name and find something completly different
