Still trying to decide on a girls name...any suggestions?

[name]Hi[/name] everyone,

I posted awhile back and got some great feedback, but here I am in the home stretch of my pregnancy and I am still conflicted about names. I thought I would just list a compilation of names that I either currently like or am considering, as well as names I have considered in the past and see if anyone here can come up with anything new for me–I am open to any of these being used as middle names as well, so feel free to suggest combos (including double mn’s). I seem to be drawn to “L” names and “V” names this pregnancy. Perhaps I will have to see her to name her??? Big brothers are [name]Tristan[/name] [name]Michael[/name] and [name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Blane[/name] (middle names for those two are both family names, but I don’t have a family name that I desperately want to use for this one). Thanks!

Names that I love or that appeal to me on any level (whether or not I can actually use them):

[name]Francesca[/name]–my girl name choice for [name]Nathaniel[/name], but haven’t felt as strong a connection to it for this baby though both me and hubby still love the name

[name]Cecilia[/name]–girls name for [name]Tristan[/name] but haven’t connected to it for this baby.

[name]Genevieve[/name]–was a top contender for awhile. I still love it, but not sure I feel the connection anymore. I also do not like any form of “[name]Jen[/name]/[name]Gen[/name]” as a nn.

[name]Lola[/name]–the only name we all like (and what we pretty much refer to her as). [name]Just[/name] concerned about trendiness and negative connotations and it is very different from the other names we like. I love it, but keep thinking there must be something “better.” Also have a niece named [name]Layla[/name] so concerned about the name similarity.

[name]Verity[/name]–just love something about this. Considering for a mn.

[name]Waverly[/name]–same as above.

[name]Camille[/name]–really love this name, hubby does not.

[name]Olivia[/name]–love it, but too popular.

[name]Sophia[/name]–same as above.

[name]Lily[/name]/[name]Lilian[/name]/[name]Liliana[/name]–same as above.

[name]Clare[/name]–like for a mn.

[name]Delilah[/name]–it’s not in the running, but I like the name.

[name]Annelise[/name]–really liked this name in the beginning. Still like for possible mn.

[name]Vivienne[/name]–really like this as well.

I love [name]Vivienne[/name] and think it sounds great with [name]Tristan[/name] and [name]Nathaniel[/name] (which are gorgeous btw!), some other ‘v’ and ‘l’ names:

[name]Veronica[/name]
[name]Vanessa[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Valerie[/name]
[name]Valentina[/name]

Sorry that’s all I can think of now… brain is fried and I’m very tired

[name]Vivienne[/name] [name]Annelise[/name]. Perfect

A few suggestions that have similarities to the names on your list.
[name]Felicity[/name]/[name]Felicia[/name]

[name]Cecily[/name]/[name]Cecile[/name]
[name]Genoa[/name]

[name]Olive[/name]
[name]Liv[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Lilah[/name]
[name]Delta[/name]
[name]Della[/name]
[name]Delise[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Alise[/name]
[name]Melise[/name]

I think [name]Francesca[/name] is a beautiful name - classic and elegant.

[name]Lola[/name] is adorable (and I don’t think its too close to [name]Layla[/name]) but I always prefer giving a longer more formal name and then using the nn. (ie: [name]Madonna[/name]'s daughter [name]Lourdes[/name], nicknamed [name]Lola[/name]). Ideas for names that can use [name]Lola[/name] as a nn: [name]Lorelai[/name], [name]Loralee[/name], [name]Lauren[/name]/[name]Loren[/name], [name]Lorena[/name], [name]Loreta[/name], [name]Lorissa[/name], [name]Larissa[/name], [name]Lucrezia[/name], [name]Louanna[/name], [name]Louisa[/name].

[name]Verity[/name] - I don’t love this name but I think it would be cute as a middle name.

[name]Camille[/name]-- I think this is beautiful. Other names in a similar vein that might appeal: [name]Calla[/name], [name]Clotilde[/name], [name]Claudia[/name], [name]Claudette[/name], [name]Cosette[/name].

[name]Olivia[/name]–love it, but too popular. I kind of feel exactly the same about this name and [name]Sophia[/name].

[name]Lily[/name]/[name]Lilian[/name]/[name]Liliana[/name]-- [name]Lily[/name] is pretty. [name]Liliana[/name] is also nice. What about [name]Lilia[/name]?

[name]Clare[/name]–like for a mn. (I prefer [name]Clara[/name])

[name]Annelise[/name]-- I think this is beautiful (as well as [name]Annalisa[/name]).

I like:
[name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Lola[/name]
[name]Liliana[/name]

I vote for [name]Vivienne[/name] [name]Clare[/name].

[name]Francesca[/name]: I think it’s gorgeous, but while I can picture it with [name]Tristan[/name], I can’t see [name]Nathaniel[/name] and [name]Francesca[/name] as siblings.

[name]Cecilia[/name]: I can see [name]Cecilia[/name] with both of your sons’ names, but if you have no connection to it, that’s what matters!

[name]Celia[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Cora[/name]

[name]Genevieve[/name]: I love the name [name]Genevieve[/name], and think it works beautifully with the romantic [name]Tristan[/name] and more more classic [name]Nathaniel[/name]. I love the [name]Evie[/name] nickname.

[name]Annabelle[/name]
[name]Camille[/name]
[name]Cora[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]

[name]Mirabelle[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name]
[name]Marielle[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Simone[/name]

[name]Lola[/name]: Like you said, it’s very similar in sound to [name]Layla[/name], but I’m not sure how often you see your niece. I can picture [name]Lola[/name] with [name]Tristan[/name], but not as much with [name]Nathaniel[/name]. Have you thought about using [name]Lola[/name] as a nickname?

I can see [name]Lola[/name] as a nickname for:

[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name]

[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Viola[/name] (take the L and the ola to get [name]Lola[/name]…any L name works…)

[name]Hope[/name]
[name]Jane[/name]
[name]Mae[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]

[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Tess[/name]

[name]Delilah[/name]:

[name]Dahlia[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name]

[name]Annelise[/name]: I think this is beautiful…

[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name]
[name]Julianne[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]

[name]Vivienne[/name]: I really like it, but its ending sound is very close to [name]Tristan[/name]'s.

Good luck!

You could call [name]Genevieve[/name] “[name]ViVi[/name].” That would stop most of the [name]Jen[/name]/[name]Gen[/name] nicknames.

I love your name taste! L names and V names…what about [name]Violet[/name]?

[name]Francesca[/name] - I agree with [name]Jill[/name] that this name doesn’t go with [name]Nathaniel[/name].

[name]Cecilia[/name]-- What about [name]Cecily[/name]?

[name]Genevieve[/name]–love a previous poster’s suggestion of nn [name]Vivi[/name]!

[name]Lola[/name]-- I love [name]Lola[/name] as a nn for [name]Paloma[/name] or [name]Eloise[/name]. Then she has a choice.

[name]Verity[/name]–just love something about this. Considering for a mn. - [name]Love[/name] it!

[name]Waverly[/name]–same as above. - I don’t like this so much. Makes me think of the fabric company.

[name]Camille[/name]-- one of my favorites.

[name]Olivia[/name]–love it, but too popular. - Yes, it’s sad.

[name]Sophia[/name]–same as above. - Yes.

[name]Lily[/name]/[name]Lilian[/name]/[name]Liliana[/name]–same as above. - So sad.

[name]Clare[/name]–like for a mn. - I love [name]Claire[/name] and [name]Clara[/name], too. And even [name]Clarissa[/name]!

[name]Delilah[/name]–it’s not in the running, but I like the name.

[name]Annelise[/name]–really liked this name in the beginning. Still like for possible mn. - love it!

[name]Vivienne[/name]–really like this as well. - One of my favorites!

You have some great choices here! I would pick [name]Vivienne[/name] [name]Claire[/name] off the top of my head.

Other ideas:

[name]Tristan[/name], [name]Nathaniel[/name], and…
[name]Adrienne[/name] nn [name]Addie[/name]
[name]Amandine[/name], but I can’t think of a great nn for it.
[name]Andrea[/name] (on-DRAY-uh) nn [name]Drea[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name] nn [name]Bea[/name]
[name]Colette[/name] nn [name]Coco[/name]

[name]Helena[/name] nn [name]Lena[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Jemima[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name] nn [name]Josie[/name]
[name]Livia[/name] - has the l and v thing going on!
[name]Lydia[/name] - I love [name]Lydia[/name] with your sons’ names. It goes with both of them so well!
