I will start a story and you get to help me move it along!
You must write at least three paragraphs, which add something meaningful to the storyline.
YOU CAN ONLY [name_u]READ[/name_u] THE POST OF THE PERSON ABOVE YOU. You cannot read from the beginning until after you’ve posted.
Keep it clean. Otherwise you may write anything you wish, from comedy, romance, new characters, or fantasy.
The result? Hilarity!
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] catches a glimpse of her reflection as she passes the office window. The commotion beyond that causes her pause. What could be so important that the president, vice president, secretary, and her desk mate were engaged in such intense conversation?
After returning to her desk, [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] jumps as the office door opens. Her desk mate emerges with tears running down her face.
Her desk mate shakes her head and doesn’t answer. She simply collects her purse and walks out of the office. [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] looks around, confused. Then she hears her name.
“[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Everly[/name_u]?” the secretary calls for her.
Reluctantly she rises and follows into the office.
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] entered the office to find all three of them in their seats, looking at her with faces of stone. Was the matter so grave that they didn’t even bother to get up to greet her? She couldn’t think of anything she might have done wrong or, for that matter, of a reason why she would get called to the office in the first place.
Irritated, [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] sat down on the only free chair. From across the desk, the president, the vice and the secretary stared at her mercylessly. [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] stared back.
Several minutes in - or what felt like several minutes anyway - [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] began to wonder if this was supposed to be some kind of joke. Or a test, maybe. Some freakish modern psycho test thing only a people-hating human resources manager could have made up. Yes, that must be it. A test. And [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] decided not to fail it, and so she waited. An hour passed, maybe two.
Finally, FINALLY the secretary got up. “Congratulations, Ms [name_u]Everly[/name_u]” she said, blatantly ignoring that it had been “Mrs” for several weeks now, “You passed the first part of the test.” She paused and looked at the president, who nodded, then pressed a hidden button beneath the desk. [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] gasped as a trap door appeared in front of her, opened, and gave view to a hidden spiral staircase. “I have to inform you”, the secretary continued, “that everything following now is top secret and therefore not to ever be mentioned outside of this office. Now would you please follow me?” And with that, she started her way down.
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] started sweating, what was this ‘top secret’ thing? Was she going to have to break the law? What if she was caught? What if she was going to be murdered? While climbing down the staircase [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] saw a glimpse of the room. There was a man, he was looking at books. What kind of books? [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] wondered. But those questions were never very important. The secratary spoke up. “Dr. [name_m]Jones[/name_m]?” The man jumped, and he turned around. The man was a bit politer. “[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] [name_m]Jones[/name_m]!” The man quickly introduced himself. “Listen to Mr. [name_m]Jones[/name_m].” The secratary said to [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] with a stone face. “Failure to do so and we will wipe your memory.” The secratary went back up the stair-case and into the office. The trapdoor closed with a start. “Oh thank the heavens she’s gone!” Mr. [name_m]Jones[/name_m] cried. “Sir…?” [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] asked confused. “Those monsters… they work for the big man…” Mr. [name_m]Jones[/name_m] whispered. “They’ve kept me down here, but now I have you! We must get out together! And, call me [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m].” [name_m]Jaxson[/name_m] ripped a poster off the wall. It showed a hole. He motioned for [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] to follow behind him. “The walls are thin… so be quiet.” [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] whispered. [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] nodded. They soon came to a room. “There are two levers, they open to the alleyway behind the building.” [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] was confused. “Why’d she say to never speak of this outside of the office…?” [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] chuckled, “to make sure you didn’t run.” [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] hurried over to a lever. [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] spoke again. “Pull on 3… 1… 2… 3!” They both pulled at the levers. And a trap door opened. They both scurried out. They were outside. And now they had to make sure no one knew who they were.
