Strange?

what do you all think of the name lake or lakelyn for a girl?

Personally I find it weird, and sort of made up but thats my opinion anyway.

[name]Chloe[/name]-belle what a beautiful username, those are two names that are close to my heart.

I am sorry though I wouldn’t use either name firstly I think that [name]Lake[/name] is definitely a boy’s name not on its way to the girls and Lakelyn reminds me of the much maligned [name]Brooklyn[/name].

If you need a hand making a list give us some guidelines and we will help you out.

rollo

I taught a female [name]Lake[/name] (siblings [name]Coleman[/name] and Woods) which is probably why I don’t have that much of a problem with it for a girl. However, it is not really my style.

I think of [name]Lake[/name] as a last name because I went to school with someone with that last name. Honestly, I’m not a big fan. I’m also not a fan of most word names, so that’s probably why.

I don’t like it. A lake is a body of water where you can go fishing, water-skiing, boating, etc. Lakelyn looks like a creative spelling of [name]Lachlan[/name] where the parents also mispronounced the original name. Sorry.

I’ve only known a boy [name]Lake[/name] (siblings [name]Leif[/name] and [name]Sky[/name], all boys), so I think it’s a boys name.

I agree that Lakelyn looks like a misspelling of [name]Lachlan[/name] that’s been miss pronounced. Sorry >.<

I don’t mind [name]Lake[/name], I could see it working on a boy maybe, but Lakelyn just looks like a mishmash to me.

I think [name]Lake[/name] is fine, though I don’t like Lakelyn.

I love the name on the actress [name]Lake[/name] [name]Bell[/name]. But it’s one of those that I wouldn’t use in “real life”.

It’s not really my style either but for some reason it interests me. And thank you, my name is [name]Chloe[/name] and my mom always called me [name]Chloe[/name] [name]Belle[/name]

I like [name]Lake[/name]. It’s a nice nature name. I don’t like Lakelyn because it sounds weird and made up.

I don’t like Lakelyn. [name]Lake[/name] would be a cute nn for [name]Laken[/name].

i love lakelyn!! what a pretty name!!

I makes me think of Laykn which I hear a lot. It is spelled a variety of ways- Laykin, Laekin, [name]Laken[/name] etc. Lakelyn seems odd and made-up.

If you can name a boy [name]River[/name], then I don’t see why you can’t name a girl [name]Lake[/name].

Sillysheila, is your daughter named after [name]Grace[/name] [name]Kelly[/name]? [name]Princess[/name] [name]Grace[/name] [name]Kelly[/name] was [name]Grace[/name] [name]Patricia[/name].

[name]Lake[/name] seems like a great name - for either a girl or boy - in my opinion.

Sort of. She’s actually named after my mother (whose middle name is [name]Ann[/name], which means grace), DH’s paternal grandmother (whose first name is [name]Patricia[/name]), the Greek goddesses of charm and beauty (the Graces), many people in my family who had a variation of the name [name]John[/name] (which means “god is gracious”), and a dear friend of the family’s, also named [name]Patricia[/name]. The link to the late [name]Princess[/name] of Monaco is a delightful, yet unimportant reference for us.

I know two girls in their teens called [name]Laiken[/name] and Lakan. [name]Both[/name] pronounced [name]Lay[/name]-ken.
