So my husband and I recently found out we will be adding a new addition to the family in 2014. We have one son, [name]Evan[/name] [name]Alexzander[/name] who is 5. Everything about this pregnancy is already completely different than with my son (even at only 9 weeks!) and intuition just has me feeling as though this baby is a girl.
Normally my husband and I have completely different naming styles, but today my husband out of the blue said that he loves the name [name]June[/name]. His normal naming style falls into the overdone 80’s category with names like [name]Tiffany[/name] and [name]Melanie[/name]. So [name]June[/name] is a complete (but very welcome) surprise, and i am striking while the iron is hot and trying to come up with a lovely combo. However, middles are stumping me. I feel like I can’t hit the right sound. Some thoughts now:
But none of those feel like they quite hit the sweet spot, if you know what I mean? [name]May[/name] be a double middle? Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated!!
Congratulations on your pregnancy! [name]June[/name] is so pretty. Some ideas for you…
I love repeating sounds in first and middle names, so here are some suggestions with a repeating U sound:
[name]June[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]
[name]June[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]June[/name] [name]Luisa[/name]
[name]June[/name] [name]Lunette[/name]
I love the rhythm in these names:
[name]June[/name] [name]Antoinette[/name]
[name]June[/name] [name]Alouette[/name]
[name]June[/name] flows nicely into a middle name that starts with a vowel:
[name]June[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]June[/name] [name]Aloisa[/name]
[name]June[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]June[/name] [name]Azalia[/name]
[name]June[/name] [name]Elora[/name]
[name]June[/name] [name]Eliana[/name]
[name]June[/name] [name]Eloisa[/name]
[name]June[/name] [name]Opal[/name]
[name]June[/name] [name]Imogen[/name]
I think they aren’t sounding right to you because the stress is on the 2nd syllable, and with a one syllable firsts usually they sound best with names where the stress is on the first or the third syllable.
[name]June[/name] is so beautiful, and I love it with [name]Evan[/name]! For middles, I like the suggestion of [name]June[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]. I was also looking at your list of girls’ names and I think [name]June[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name] would be lovely, too.
Thanks everyone! @alzora, I love the suggestion of [name]June[/name] [name]Lucille[/name], but unfortunately , my cousin is named [name]Lucille[/name] and I don’t feel as though I am close enough with her to honor her or to take her name. [name]June[/name] [name]Antoinette[/name] is interesting and quite appealing actually. That will definitely go on the list!
@kala_way— that is something I hadn’t thought about? But you are right. Second syllable stresses do sound better. Hmmm food for thought…and I do like the sound of [name]June[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]!
What does anyone think of [name]June[/name] [name]Anneliese[/name]? Or a double middle ? [name]May[/name] be something like [name]June[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]? I feel like I am so all over the place! [name]June[/name] was always middle name category for my combos, so feel weird having it up front.
So funny that you say this, because my SO has the same feelings about names - he’d have all Tiffanys and [name]Ambers[/name] and Lauras if it were up to him - but he also loves [name]June[/name]! I am so happy that he does, because we are not having a little [name]Melanie[/name]. I love [name]June[/name] with a longer middle since it’s so short and sweet.
