What about [name_m]Simon[/name_m], [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] ([name_u]Theo[/name_u]/[name_u]Teddy[/name_u]), or [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]?

I love her list, especially [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], and [name_u]Seth[/name_u]. [name_m]Clement[/name_m] seems a bit too old-fashioned for me and [name_u]Noah[/name_u] is so popular right now that it doesn’t have much spark.

I think [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] fit her criteria the best. [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] fits if you use [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u] for the nickname. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think she would go for [name_m]Huck[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_m]Henry[/name_m]?

She likes [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], though a fat chipmunk comes to mind whenever we hear it. She loves [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u]! [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is also a very strong contender, but nn would probably either be [name_m]Harry[/name_m] or [name_m]Hal[/name_m].

I love:

I think top 3 that seem to fit your description are [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m].

They’re all nice names, but [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_m]Clement[/name_m] don’t seem as playful, so I would ditch those. I like [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] and [name_u]Casey[/name_u], but they don’t seem as “classic” to me, but they are definitely recognizable and familiar if that’s what she was going for.

I think [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] fits the bill as well.

[name_u]Rory[/name_u] immediately came to my mind as soon as you mentioned her wanting a spark in the name. I also think [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] fit the bill

Thanks every for their feedback so far! The list has now been shortened somewhat to [name_m]Henry[/name_m]/[name_m]Harry[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_u]Casey[/name_u], [name_u]Jesse[/name_u], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]/[name_m]Jake[/name_m], Nathan, George and [name_u]James[/name_u]/[name_m]Jimmy[/name_m]. The only issue with [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is its popularity here in the UK, but she does like it and agrees with what others have posted. She also likes [name_u]Dean[/name_u], but cannot use it since its been used recently in the family already. Any further thoughts?

[name_u]Spencer[/name_u], [name_u]Owen[/name_u], [name_m]Brody[/name_m] and [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] fit the criteria for me

From her list I think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is great especially with the nn [name_m]Hal[/name_m]

I also think [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]/jake and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] are lovely

Also maybe [name_m]Robert[/name_m] with nn [name_u]Bobby[/name_u]? Or [name_m]William[/name_m] with nn [name_u]Billy[/name_u]?

[name_u]Billy[/name_u] is already in the family. She likes [name_u]Robin[/name_u] though and is now also considering [name_u]Shane[/name_u] as a possibility.

I love:

[name_m]Just[/name_m] had a thought - does [name_m]Felix[/name_m] fit? Or [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]? Jude even?

[name_u]Poll[/name_u] now up! Other suggestions still welcome and feedback greatly appreciated.

[name_u]Poll[/name_u] now up! Other suggestions still welcome and feedback greatly appreciated.

I vote [name_m]Henry[/name_m] but with no nickname.

She has a great list.

Some ideas for similar sound or feel to [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]:
[name_m]Louis[/name_m] / [name_m]Louie[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] w. nn [name_u]Ollie[/name_u]
[name_u]Robbie[/name_u] ([name_m]Robert[/name_m])
[name_u]Billy[/name_u] ([name_m]William[/name_m])
[name_m]Ted[/name_m]/[name_u]Teddy[/name_u] ([name_m]Edward[/name_m])
[name_u]Jamie[/name_u] ([name_u]James[/name_u])
[name_u]Laurie[/name_u] ([name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]/[name_u]Laurence[/name_u])
[name_m]Tommy[/name_m] ([name_m]Thomas[/name_m])
[name_u]Sam[/name_u]/[name_u]Sammy[/name_u] ([name_m]Samuel[/name_m])

I love [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and I don’t think it needs a nickname. It’s a short playful name already!

Of the names on the poll, I like [name_m]Leo[/name_m], followed closely by [name_m]Henry[/name_m] nn [name_m]Harry[/name_m] (although [name_m]Hal[/name_m], w/its Shakespearean echoes, is pretty cool). A pp mentioned [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], which is one of my favorite boy’s names…it sounds classic, but has the option of a number of nn ([name_u]Teddy[/name_u], [name_m]Ted[/name_m], [name_u]Theo[/name_u]). I tend to think of [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] [name_m]Roosevelt[/name_m] rather than [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] the Chipmunk, but that’s just me.
