[name]Hi[/name]! We are expecting a little girl and cannot come up with any names that we both “love.” Our son is [name]Elam[/name] (a biblical name), so we want it to go with that. It does not necessarily have to be biblical, but historical or latin roots preferred. We want something uncommon but familiar sounding (it drives my husband nuts how people mispronounce my son’s name–we say ee-lum–so he wants there to be no ambiguity on how to say our daughter’s name).
Some names we like are [name]Louisa[/name] (after a family member), [name]Sage[/name], [name]Sylvie[/name], and [name]Simone[/name]. We like all of these names but do not agree on one that we both love. In general, we prefer stronger sounding and shorter girl names (not as much into the flowy names ending in “a” with several syllables).
I’ve trolled through every single blog post and name list and nothing is feeling right. I always love the names that people come up with in these forums, so I thought I’d look here for inspiration. Many thanks in advance!
I like [name]Louisa[/name] with [name]Elam[/name]! [name]How[/name] about [name]Lydia[/name] (I know this ends in ‘a,’ but I like it with [name]Elam[/name]!), [name]Eliza[/name] or [name]Naomi[/name]?
I’m not great at coming up with suggestions but the first name that popped into my head for you was [name]Naomi[/name]. Though I’m sure you’ve already considered it since it’s biblical too. Wish I could be more helpful but just wanted to say I do really like your son’s name though I’ve never heard it. I love the sound of it.
Combos with the shorter and longer names work out to some beautiful names Examples: [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Magdalena[/name] [name]Faye[/name] (nn lena or maggie), [name]Elara[/name] [name]Vivienne[/name], etc…
Try some out…
Check out some combos I made with these on my name list that can be find in my signature.
Good [name]Luck[/name]!
Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions! There are some good ones on here. I have been going back to [name]Sage[/name] recently ([name]Sage[/name] [name]Louisa[/name] perhaps). Anyway, I really appreciate all of your help!
I really like [name]Sage[/name] with [name]Elam[/name]. I also like other posters’ suggestions of [name]Celeste[/name], [name]Tess[/name], and [name]Blair[/name].
Some other suggestions:
