Áine
Quick brief: Irish name for [name_f]Ann[/name_f]
Pronounced Awn ya
Meaning- Radiance, Brightness, Splendor
‘The queen of the Munster fairies was called [name_f]Aine[/name_f] as was one of the wives of [name_u]Fionn[/name_u] [name_m]Mac[/name_m] Cool (read the legend). [name_f]Aine[/name_f] appears in folktales as “the best-hearted woman who ever lived – lucky in love and in money.”
Spelling and pronunciation issues shouldn’t be an issue as I live in [name_f]Ireland[/name_f].
Because my naming style is feminine, pretty, flowy, quite regal and classic, I’m struggling to fall in love with anything that fits with it as it sort of goes against my style in that it’s quite strong and not as whimsical princess’y as I like.
So make me fall in love with some combo’s you think are just utterly gorgeous!
Edit- open to two middles also!

I’m leaving out [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] for a first name! [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is drawing me in the most. Thank you for your reply! Along my line of thinking!
Aine [name_f]Mairead[/name_f] would be stunning! [name_u]Or[/name_u] something less Irish like [name_f]Aine[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f].
I hate [name_f]Mairead[/name_f]
too masculine and hate how it sounds! Appreciate the suggestion though!
Oh. I’ve never thought of it sounding masculine. I say it as ma-REYD. [name_f]Aine[/name_f] [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] also came to mind.
Again not a fan! I’m generally not a fan of Irish girl names despite being Irish. Áine is an exception. I prefer flowy whimsical princess’y names. Thank you though honestly!
Oh, okay. Some other ideas are [name_f]Aine[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Aine[/name_f] [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], [name_f]Aine[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and [name_f]Aine[/name_f] [name_f]Calliope[/name_f]. Persephone was the goddess of Spring, so that relates to the meaning of Aine. So would the names Kalindi, Soleil, Solveig and Sunniva since they relate to the sun @Pinkplanning
Actually just googled [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] and it means ‘sun ray’ which fits so nicely with Áine’s meaning! [name_m]Will[/name_m] add to a list of options!
If you like [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], maybe:
[name_f]Adelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Amalia[/name_f] (real life princess name)

Áine [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is quite pretty! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you prefer it to Áine [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f]?
I think flow-wise I do, it just rolls off the tongue a little easier and has a bit of a softer sound, which you seem to like. However, both combos are lovely, one a little softer, the other ([name_f]Eleanora[/name_f]) a little more princess-y! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you plan to add a second middle name?

I’m on the fence with [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] the majority of the time. I like the fact that it’s classic, feminine, quite whimsy and pretty but the eeze ending and elo sort of reminds me of the teletubbies🤦🏻♀️
YouTube- Teletubbies say “Eh-oh!” for anyone who hasn’t a clue what I’m on about😂
I think I prefer [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f].
Definitely considering a second mn!
Hmm, there’s also [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f], which is more princesslike.

Hi there.
I love [name_f]Aine[/name_f]! You’re so lucky to live in [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] where people will say this w/their beautiful Irish accents.
I’m in the U.S, where us Americans don’t pronounce nearly as pretty even if we tried.
Sorry for any repeats, but for mns I like-
Aine [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
Aine [name_f]Clover[/name_f]
Aine [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]
Aine [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
Aine [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]-I usually don’t like when combos repeat 'n’s, but making an exception here for two of my favorite names w/a similar vibe.
Aine [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]
Aine [name_f]Lilie[/name_f]
Aine [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
Aine [name_f]Primrose[/name_f]
Aine [name_f]Sofie[/name_f]
Hope this helps.
