Struggling to find 'the one' for 3rd son...help please!

[name]Hi[/name], I am new to the berries but I have spent hours upon hours, days upon days, reading through your posts and forums looking for devine inspiration to name our devine 3rd son. I have b/b twins [name]Philip[/name] [name]Isaac[/name] & [name]Devon[/name] [name]James[/name] & absolutely love their names!!!. [name]Philip[/name] very traditional but not popular, DH’s choice, and [name]Devon[/name] a little unique & uncommon, my choice. We like that both their names are 2 syllables and have nice nn [name]Phil[/name] & [name]Dev[/name] for when they grow up. I’m really struggling now to name our 3rd son in less than 2yrs! I am looking for 1 or 2 syllable as we have a 3 syllable ‘…ski’ ending surname, and a name that works well with our sibset.

[name]James[/name] is a name I love & an important name in my family history, although I worry about it being too common but would be a safe choice given how confused I currently am!.. I like [name]James[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] (nn JD)

I don’t mind traditional or less-so as we already have 1 of each. I don’t like ‘trendy’. I would like a name that sounds equally strong next to his older twin brothers too.

Other names I like:
[name]Arlo[/name]
[name]Lincoln[/name]
[name]Evander[/name]
[name]Daniel[/name] (not sure of the D-D sibset?)

I generally like names that start with letters in the first half of the alphabet A-M.

I’m pretty stuck, confused & stressed, would really appreciate your help, advice please! :-|.

I also really like [name]William[/name], [name]Luke[/name] & [name]Lucas[/name] which we can’t use as other family/friends already have.

Congratulations on your soon-to-be here son! [name]Love[/name] your b/b twin names of [name]Philip[/name] [name]Isaac[/name] and [name]Devon[/name] [name]James[/name]. Since your one son has the middle name [name]James[/name], I would suggest not using it as a first name for your 3rd son. Are there any other names that have important family history that you would like to use?

From your names that you like, I particularly like [name]Arlo[/name] for you. I think that [name]Arlo[/name] has that two-syllables that you are looking for and goes well with your other son’s names.

Some Suggestions, hope some of these help

[name]Levi[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Owen[/name]
[name]Dermot[/name]
[name]Ian[/name]
[name]Henry[/name]
[name]Harry[/name]
[name]Tristan[/name]
[name]Arthur[/name]
[name]Viggo[/name] - this might be too out there for you, not sure though so I put it in here anyways.

Good luck in choosing a name!

Thanks for your help jtucker. I like [name]Levi[/name] but DH vetoed that a while ago along with [name]Harry[/name]. Not entirely sure why. I also don’t mind [name]Owen[/name], [name]Oden[/name]. I quite like [name]Tristan[/name] but what would be the nn? There’s many names I like but very few that I ‘love’ the same way I do with P&D - hence why I’m finding it so hard as I feel their little brother is deserving of one we love just as much. [name]Philip[/name] & [name]James[/name] are the only 2 family names that really stand out. My dads name is [name]Hugh[/name] but as much as I love him I find that name quite limiting.

Some two syllable names with one syllable nn…

[name]Callum[/name]
[name]Camden[/name]
[name]Christian[/name]
[name]Calvin[/name]

I know a [name]Tristan[/name] that they call tris, like [name]Chris[/name]

[name]Beckett[/name]
[name]Cobalt[/name]
[name]Coltrane[/name]

[name]Tavish[/name]
[name]Thaddeus[/name] ([name]Thadd[/name])
[name]Thane[/name]
[name]Trent[/name]
[name]Truman[/name]

We have a similar last name (heck it could be the same surname) but obviously prefer more unusual names. Best wishes!

[name]Quinton[/name]
[name]Vincent[/name]
[name]Gregory[/name]
[name]Trevor[/name]
[name]Trey[/name]

I would stick with [name]James[/name]!

I adore [name]James[/name], but find it a little odd that you already have it used as your one son’s middle name and then you are considering using it again as another son’s first name. I would choose something different. I also love the idea of [name]Hugh[/name] as a middle name.

Not sure if these have already been mentioned, but…

[name]Sebastian[/name] (nn [name]Seb[/name], Bass, Bash, [name]Bastian[/name])
[name]Dexter[/name] (nn [name]Dex[/name])
[name]Quentin[/name] (nn [name]Quinn[/name])

[name]Bradley[/name] (nn [name]Brad[/name])
[name]Matthew[/name] (nn [name]Matt[/name])
[name]Zachary[/name] (nn [name]Zach[/name])

Thanks so much for your lists & suggestions, really appreciate it. I’m going to go through these and pick out my faves & try them on DH! Like [name]Owen[/name], [name]Leon[/name], [name]Callum[/name]. Still gutted DH has vetoed [name]Luke[/name] as that was on the top of my list :(. Can you think of any other name similar or as ‘punchy’ as [name]Luke[/name]? I like the ‘L’ & ‘k’ sounds as we have a ‘k’ in our surname…

I agree-- [name]James[/name] is a little off since it’s the mn of your other son. What about

[name]Philip[/name], [name]Devon[/name], and

[name]Adam[/name]
[name]Andrew[/name]
[name]Bruce[/name]
[name]Bryce[/name]
[name]Clark[/name]
[name]Conrad[/name]
[name]Frank[/name]
[name]Gilbert[/name]
[name]Henry[/name]
[name]Ian[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Kenneth[/name]
[name]Lucas[/name]
[name]Malcolm[/name]
[name]Marcus[/name]
[name]Mark[/name]
[name]Neil[/name]
[name]Reid[/name]
[name]Roland[/name]
[name]Patrick[/name]
[name]Scott[/name]
[name]Victor[/name]
[name]Walter[/name]

I like [name]Owen[/name] and [name]Calvin[/name] out of all the suggestions

What comes to mind for me reading through this are

[name]Clark[/name]
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Louis[/name]

The only reason I am/was considering [name]James[/name] is because of it’s prominence through our family history and the fact that I am finding it very hard to find another name I love more than [name]James[/name], asides from the others that my husband has ruled out. [name]James[/name] is one he still connects with too.

I am also liking:
[name]Owen[/name] [name]Jackson[/name]
[name]Leon[/name] [name]Angel[/name] (mn old masculine family name)
[name]Calvin[/name] [name]Hugh[/name]?
[name]Luka[/name] (mn?)

[name]Cabot[/name] is a great, underused name.

Maybe if you like [name]James[/name], [name]Lucas[/name] (or [name]Lukas[/name]) might work.
There’s also [name]Jameson[/name] (son of [name]James[/name]) which will be a little tweak to the family name.

[name]Leon[/name] [name]Angel[/name] and [name]Owen[/name] [name]Jackson[/name] sound nice and are aesthetically appealing.
[name]Calvin[/name] [name]Hugh[/name] is also good.
[name]Lucas[/name] [name]Kevin[/name]? or maybe just dog through the family tree and find a name that sounds good with [name]Lucas[/name]?

[name]Kalen[/name] has an ‘l’ and a ‘k’
I think that would go well with [name]Devon[/name] and [name]Phillip[/name]

[name]How[/name] do I pronounce [name]Kalen[/name] (is it just like [name]Alan[/name]/[name]Allen[/name] but with the k)?

The front runner with DH is now [name]Owen[/name] [name]Angel[/name] …ski. I really like it. Wdyt? Followed by [name]James[/name] [name]Daniel[/name]…and [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Angel[/name]…

Thoughts please, almost there:p
