I’m expecting our first baby, due around [name_m]New[/name_m] Year. We haven’t found out the sex so need to plan names for boys and girls. Girls names we had a decent short list for and think we have finally decided, but I just can’t get excited about boys names in the way I have with girls.
Our surname is single syllable beginning with W. If the baby is a boy he will have one family name as a middle name but I’m not adverse to two middle names.
Our list so far is:
[name_m]Holden[/name_m]
[name_u]Alden[/name_u]
[name_u]Auden[/name_u]
[name_m]Linus[/name_m]
[name_m]Huxley[/name_m]
[name_m]Morten[/name_m]
[name_m]Bramwell[/name_m]
[name_m]Landon[/name_m]
[name_m]Larson[/name_m]
Most of the other names we like have become very popular in the UK which has ruled them out for us ([name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]). Any feedback on our list or ideas for other names we may like?
From your list I like [name_m]Linus[/name_m] the best. Going off your style I tried to pick names that aren’t extremely popular. I hope you can find one that helps you get excited for boy names.
I really like [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] and [name_m]Clayton[/name_m], thanks so much for the suggestions. I love [name_m]Weston[/name_m] and I love the idea of two W names together but unfortunately we have family that live in the town of the same name so that rules it out.
My favorites from your list are [name_u]Alden[/name_u] and [name_m]Linus[/name_m]. They both have a nice balance of strength and softness in my opinion.
I don’t usually like -son names, but I really like [name_m]Larson[/name_m] (as in [name_u]Gary[/name_u] [name_m]Larson[/name_m], the cartoonist of “The Far Side”).
Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated. I think we might be going to find out the sex of the baby now, my step son is struggling a little with the idea of a new baby and we think knowing whether it’s a boy or a girl might help him. I also think knowing for sure will help me get over my name paralysis!
Hello, I just had a surprise yesterday (boy) and I had the same feeling, girls names, like their clothes are just more varied and its easier to be daring [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. My surname is also single syllable beginning W. Many of the names I have loved for a while are also very popular now; [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Eli[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] (I am also Uk). I like [name_m]Huxley[/name_m] and [name_m]Bramwell[/name_m] very much. Also;
[name_m]Abel[/name_m]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]
[name_m]Cooper[/name_m]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u]
[name_u]Seth[/name_u]
[name_m]Saul[/name_m]
