Struggling with Boys Names

I am finding boys name so very difficult!

Short list:

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_m]Charles[/name_m] ([name_u]Charlie[/name_u]) [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] (this is my pick however a family member is due before us and they will be naming their son [name_m]Bill[/name_m] if they have a boy)
[name_m]George[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]

My husbands pick is [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] (he would be called [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]) but I am concerned as my name is [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. Would you say this is a no go name?

Thanks!

I wouldn’t use [name_m]Charles[/name_m] if your name is [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] is nice.

I think having a son named [name_m]Charles[/name_m] would be a sweet semi-namesake. [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] aren’t too close, they have very different sounds. I do like [name_m]William[/name_m] too though.

I love [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m], if your family member is using the name [name_m]Bill[/name_m] - just [name_m]Bill[/name_m] - then I say there’s no issue as they are different enough even if [name_m]Bill[/name_m] is derived from [name_m]William[/name_m]. If however [name_m]Bill[/name_m] is a nn for [name_m]William[/name_m] it may make it a little more complicated but no one owns a name.

[name_m]Charles[/name_m] nn [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] would be my least favourite from your list but still a great classic. I’m loving [name_m]George[/name_m].

My favourite is [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]. Your other choices are all lovely, but [name_m]Henry[/name_m] takes the cake for me.

While [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and [name_m]George[/name_m] are both great names, together, with their 1-1 syllable count, they sound a little choppy.

My second choice for you would be [name_m]George[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]. Very royal, and more distinctive that having a little [name_m]Bill[/name_m] and a little [name_m]William[/name_m] in the same extended family.

Good luck deciding!

Thank you for your comment, you’re right about the 1-1 syllable count with [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] so that is now out! [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] or [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] are top contenders.

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] is my favourite too
I also like [name_m]George[/name_m] as a first name

I wouldn’t use [name_m]Charles[/name_m] if your name is [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] either.

But, [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] have my vote.

Yes you’re right I do like regal names! Unfortunately my brothers name is [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] so as much as I love it, it is out.

I do not think many would associate both names unless you go by [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] as well. Everyone loves a “[name_u]Charlie[/name_u]”

I’ve always fancied Geroge [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I just like it, I can see the same qualities in [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]. That gets my vote. I wouldn’t use [name_m]Charles[/name_m] but the reason is your name and not because I think there’s anything wrong with naming a son for his mother but because the show pushing daisies the dad is [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and she is [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and for some reason that’s all I can think of. We watched it on amazon last winter its adorable but now i think of that. Otherwise that’s nice as well.

Oh and I would mention if willi is still on the list that it bothers me, quite simply that not everyone says [name_m]Will[/name_m] e um there are some that saw [name_m]Will[/name_m] yum which I guess is fine if that’s the way you say it but it puts me off, my husband says its a magical 2.5 syllable name and I can’t be too critical of speach but I dislike that about what is otherwise a good solid choice
