Struggling with girl names

It’s week 30 and we still have not agreed on a girl name. Would really like to have her name list at least narrowed down by the time she arrives, but we can’t seem to agree. We are on two separate pages. Any suggestions for us?
A few of the names we’ve tossed around:
[name_u]Alexis[/name_u]/[name_f]Alexa[/name_f] (I strongly disagree with these two, but he really wants one of them)
[name_f]Mya[/name_f]
[name_f]Paige[/name_f]
[name_f]Priya[/name_f]/Pria/Prea (He liked this for a while, but not really anymore. I still like but don’t know about the association with the common [name_f]Indian[/name_f] name as we are not [name_f]Indian[/name_f] and don’t want it to be confusing for her.)

[name_f]Mira[/name_f]/[name_f]Mila[/name_f]/[name_f]Melina[/name_f]

We both somewhat like [name_f]Cambree[/name_f], [name_f]Mya[/name_f], [name_u]Presley[/name_u], but haven’t totally settled on them.

Basically here’s where we sit. I don’t want a name that ends in the “s” sound because our last name starts with S and it sounds like the two names blend together. I want something fairly unique but not “too” different as we both have somewhat less common names ([name_m]Preston[/name_m] and Shalee). We don’t want the names to be associated with anything that we don’t like or be the name of someone else we know. We tend to like more current names as opposed to the traditional names. We have talked about using my great grandma’s name for a middle name, [name_f]Leona[/name_f]. Not sure if we will or not yet. All depends on first name choice. So…any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I like [name_f]Mira[/name_f] and [name_f]Paige[/name_f]! For some reason [name_f]Cambree[/name_f] sounds like a brand name to me (maybe like Toyota [name_f]Camry[/name_f]?) But I tend to like more traditional names, so it could be just me!

I like [name_f]Cambree[/name_f]. I think I prefer the spelling [name_f]Cambrie[/name_f]. I also like [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] just a little better. Maybe [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] could be a compromise
between [name_f]Cambree[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexa[/name_f].

Thanks everyone! I’m really leaning towards [name_f]Mira[/name_f] the more we have talked about it and the more I’ve heard from you all on opinions about the names I listed. Not sure if hubby is totally on board yet, but not opposed to it either. Any suggestions for middle names? Not really sure where to go with that. Had a hard enough time coming up with first name ideas!!

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband voted for the name [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] too… It was between [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] and [name_f]Mia[/name_f] . In the end I figured with [name_u]Alexis[/name_u], she could be [name_u]Lexi[/name_u] ,[name_u]Allie[/name_u], [name_u]Alex[/name_u] or [name_u]Alexis[/name_u]. [name_f]Mia[/name_f] didn’t have all those choices . And we agreed on [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f], who is now 3 and [name_u]Alex[/name_u] suits her well

[name_u]Haven[/name_u]'t narrowed it down a whole lot, but the top 3 we have right now are [name_u]Presley[/name_u], [name_f]Mira[/name_f], and [name_f]Cambree[/name_f]. Any other suggestions of similar names that we could add to the list? We just can’t seem to both agree on a name yet but don’t hate these 3. We want her to have a somewhat unique name and some friends of ours have a daughter named [name_u]Presley[/name_u]. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t know anyone named [name_f]Mira[/name_f] and I like it, but hubby is not sold on it. [name_f]My[/name_f] sis-in-law came up with [name_f]Cambree[/name_f] and he and I both find that to be a reason we kind of don’t want to use it. Terrible to say, I know, but we just don’t want her to always take credit for our daughter’s name! :wink: I think middle names will be easier to add once the first name is selected. Thanks!

I completely understand why your sister in law picking a name would make you hesitate. Sometimes there’s something less loaded about asking strangers for advice on this, your kids names aren’t something you necessarily want someone else to have a claim on.

Thanks! Preston is my husband’s name, so we better not use that one :slight_smile:
I think we will end up going with Presley or Mira, just need a middle name now. Feels good to have it narrowed down finally. It was so stressful having such different name styles and not agreeing. Only 54 days to due date, so will see what we have come up with by then!
