Stuck between names

Kaliana - This is my favourite but I’m worried it will always be mispronounced. I’d like it to be pronounced “Kah-lee-on-ah”. [name_m]How[/name_m] did you pronounce it when you first read it?

Kayanna - DH’s favourite. Pronounced “[name_u]Kay[/name_u]-anne-ah”.

I also like Keilani but DH doesn’t like it and his cousin has a son named Kalonie…

These are all very similar to my oldest daughters’ names. Unfortunately DH will only agree to K names and I don’t like any K names other than these :frowning: is it horrible to have siblings with very similar names?

Our oldest daughters are named [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] & [name_f]Kierra[/name_f].

I did pronounce Kaliana as kah-lee-on-ah at first - I think both it and Kayanna are pretty, but not too similar to [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] and [name_f]Kierra[/name_f]!

I’d personally choose Kaliana of the two  I also really love Kayliana/Kaylianna ([name_u]Kay[/name_u]-lee-ah-nah or [name_u]Kay[/name_u]-lee-anne-ah).

For me though, ana is always ah-nah, anna is usually ann-ah!

I’d pronounce it ka-lee-ah-nuh because without an “o” i don’t see the long o pronunciation.

how about:
[name_f]Karis[/name_f]
[name_f]Kylie[/name_f]
[name_f]Kenna[/name_f]
Kenslie
[name_u]Kora[/name_u]
[name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]
[name_u]Kamden[/name_u]

I would say kaylee-ana.

[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] and [name_f]Kierra[/name_f] are very similar already so adding another similar name could definitely get confusing! Out of the two I prefer Kaliana.

Some suggestions
[name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f]
[name_f]Kayla[/name_f]
[name_f]Katrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Kaelyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Khloe[/name_f]

I think Kaliana might come with pronunciation issues. I would pronounce it Kah lee ah na. I agree with a previous poster, the o sound is not natural for me. So, Kayanna may be the better option if you husband is only open to these two.

But I would love to suggest Liana. It is one of my favorites - elegant, but recognizable. Pretty, but with a little spunk. It is a great alternative to Kaliana. Kaia and Kierra are beautiful, but all three so similar may be tough. If Liana is not quite right, what about…

Juliana
Eliana
Haliana
Sienna
Briana
Lianne
Liliana
Lilia
Ariana
Diana

Or, because your husband loves Kayanna, maybe just Anna? It is the same length as Kaia, so I think it fits well in the set. Or, if you want a slightly frillier option, what about one of these variants?

Annabeth
Annelise
Annabel
Susanna
Joanna
Rosanna

Good luck

Oh, you could also use Kay (or a K name) in the middle spot. It sounds like your husband is really hoping for a K name, so that could be the place to do it. Liana Kay… Juliana Kay… Annabeth Kay… Rosanna Kay…

I don’t think I pronounced Kaliana the way you want it pronounced – I was thinking “kay-lee-on-uh.” Khaliana or Kahliana would more likely get the pronunciation you want?

Kayanna feels/looks a bit awkward for me, and again I would probably pronounce differently… more like [name_u]Kye[/name_u]-ON-uh.

Are you pronouncing Keilani as [name_u]Kay[/name_u]-lani or Key-lani?

What about Keona (Key-own-uh, like [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] but with a K)?

Have you considered [name_f]Ketura[/name_f] or [name_f]Kelilah[/name_f]?

I like Kaliana and would pronounce it the way you said (similar to [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] or [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f]). I would have pronounced Kayanna kye-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-nuh. Also pretty, but not necessarily clearer as far as pronunciation… I don’t like the prn kay-anne-uh at all. I vote Kaliana!

I really like Kayanna.

I think that Kaliana is more versatile ([name_f]Kali[/name_f], [name_u]Ali[/name_u], [name_f]Alia[/name_f], [name_f]Lia[/name_f], [name_f]Liana[/name_f], [name_f]Ana[/name_f], Kalia, [name_f]Kiana[/name_f]) and has a prettier sound (I would pronounce it like [name_f]Callie[/name_f] [name_f]Ana[/name_f]) than Kayanna (I would prnounce this as [name_u]Kay[/name_u] [name_f]Anna[/name_f]- [name_u]Kay[/name_u], [name_f]Kaya[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f]), imo. I like the suggestions of [name_f]Ketura[/name_f] and [name_f]Kelilah[/name_f].

I would pronounce Kaliana as Kah-lee-[name_m]Ah[/name_m]-na, (Sorry I don’t see an ‘o’ sound). Kaliana is my favourite out of your options, Kayanna is too close to [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] for me. I also love the suggestion of [name_f]Kelilah[/name_f].

I think OP meant on like the word ‘on’… like ahn/awn. No long O. I hope?

I personally think that having names that sound very similar is way too confusing. If you feel as though you must restrict yourselves to “k” names, look for something with a different sound. Katriel is an unusual choice I’ve been considering. (Kah-tree-[name_f]EL[/name_f]). Also [name_f]Keturah[/name_f] and [name_f]Keziah[/name_f].
