[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Everyone! My husband and I are stuck on a boys name for our 3rd (and planned final) child. His middle name will be [name_m]Jason[/name_m] after my brother who passed away last year. Our sons name is [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and daughters name is [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] (we had no idea how popular it was becoming). A few names we are considering, but not in love with are:
Names I like that have been firmly vetoed by Hubs:
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_u]Emerson[/name_u]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_m]Greyson[/name_m] (which would sound ridiculous)
I am only 27 weeks, but this seems like it’s going to be a huge challenge. I’d like to have 3 solid agreed upon choices when Bday arrives so we aren’t making lists in the hospital like we were with my daughter. Thanks for your suggestions!
I would avoid -t names, because of your son’s name. [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] is lovely with [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], but [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] do feel quite matchy to me! And while I find [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] matchy, too, it also feels very American-Midwest/cowboyish to me, which has a totally different feel from [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] to me, as well. I think [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] works better stylistically, but I love [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] so much! I think either would be lovely. I think [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] [name_m]Jason[/name_m] sounds better than [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] [name_m]Jason[/name_m], though. ([name_m]Ronan[/name_m] and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] would have been amazing! Too bad he didn’t go for them.)
What about:
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u] (I don’t find [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_u]August[/name_u] as matchy as [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], for some reason. Probably because the “S” is in there, and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_m]Bennet[/name_m] are two prominent [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] surnames…)
[name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_m]Julian[/name_m]
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo/name_m
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
Some A’s and E’s if you don’t mind sharing initials:
[name_m]Asher[/name_m]
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_m]Evander[/name_m]
[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] is great too, tho I personally prefer 3+ syllables with [name_m]Jason[/name_m], ie, [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]…
I love the “-t” names that you have, [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] and [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] sound excellent with [name_m]Jason[/name_m] and flow well when you say all all of the siblings names together ([name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] are great too!)
Some other “-t” names…
[name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_m]Jason[/name_m]
[name_m]Robert[/name_m] [name_m]Jason[/name_m]
[name_m]Garret[/name_m] [name_m]Jason[/name_m] (maybe to much like the names your DH vetoed?)
[name_m]Stuart[/name_m] [name_m]Jason[/name_m]
[name_m]Dermott[/name_m] [name_m]Jason[/name_m]
[name_m]Matt[/name_m] ([name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Jason[/name_m] sounds nice… But maybe too popular?
Names with “L” in the middle or end would match well with Elliot and Amelia! I thought of Will but I’m sure there’s many more. I would recommend a name not ending in -n or -t, because -n is so common now, and -t is too matchy with [name_u]Elliot[/name_u].
Thanks for the suggestions everyone! They were very helpful. I’ve already been considering [name_m]Rainer[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_m]Garret[/name_m] and [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], but I’m afraid DH will shoot them down.
I like [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Jason[/name_m]. [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] and [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] are similar but I don’t think they’re too similar or matchy. I think that [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] goes best with your other kids’ names. Runner up would be [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] [name_m]Jason[/name_m].
I saw a pp suggested [name_m]Wesley[/name_m]. It seems to be a good fit with [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]. My brother is a [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] [name_m]Jason[/name_m], so it feels so familiar to me that I love it. I also like the above suggestions of [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_m]Evander[/name_m]. [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] works well too.
Others have suggested this already but the name that popped into my mind on reading [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] was [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. It sounds lovely with the other vowel names you already have. And [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Jason[/name_m] sounds great.
My other suggestion would be [name_m]Oscar[/name_m].
Good luck
