Stuck on name...

[name]Baby[/name] girl is due in less than 3 weeks and I still don’t have a name. I can’t find anything that appeals to me in addition to the fact that my husband and I agree on nothing.

First daughters name is [name]Katelyn[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. Before anyone slams it, I now know that is not the real spelling and it is a super popular name. Live and learn. Daughter came early and that’s what we came up with at the last minute. I’ve always loved the name [name]Kate[/name] and that is what we call her.

Anyway, this time around I would like to have something prepared. My family is Italian and I would like for this daughter to have a name that can be pronounced easily by Italian speaking members (Like [name]Sara[/name] for example). [name]Katelyn[/name] has become [name]Caterina[/name]…

I really like [name]Serena[/name] [name]May[/name] or [name]Rose[/name] ([name]Both[/name] middle names have special meaning to me), but Husband is not a fan. He keeps on suggesting [name]Mia[/name], which I’m not to crazy about. I then suggested [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] as a nickname, but he hates [name]Amelia[/name].

He’s okay with [name]Marissa[/name] and even though I suggested it, I’m not too crazy about it. It’s a name that I could live with.

Looking for ideas, inspiration, help!!!

I think [name]Alyssa[/name] would work perfectly with [name]Katelyn[/name]. I love [name]Caitlin[/name]/[name]Katelyn[/name] it is a lovely name imo.

However, if her nn is [name]Caterina[/name] and you want a sibling name to match that you could choose

[name]Alicia[/name] or [name]Alexandra[/name].

Where Italian names are concerned, I have always been enraptured by [name]Margherita[/name] & [name]Cosima[/name]. Other names for your consideration though: [name]Ottavia[/name], [name]Bettina[/name], [name]Carla[/name], [name]Elettra[/name], [name]Gisela[/name], [name]Ines[/name], [name]Leonora[/name], [name]Letizia[/name], [name]Maddalena[/name], [name]Marietta[/name], [name]Noemi[/name], Rosangela, [name]Rosaria[/name], [name]Rosetta[/name]/[name]Rosita[/name] & [name]Sonia[/name].

As a sibset…
[name]Caterina[/name] & [name]Letizia[/name] (“happiness”)
[name]Caterina[/name] & [name]Rosita[/name] (“little angel”)
[name]Caterina[/name] & [name]Ines[/name] (“chaste; holy”)

If we anglicized the names, I suppose they would be …
[name]Katelyn[/name] & [name]Leticia[/name]/ [name]Letitia[/name]? nn [name]Letty[/name] or [name]Tish[/name].

Ok, I don’t know how to anglicize the other two. I hope this helps!

I think [name]Katelynn[/name] is a beautiful name…

Italian girl names are gorgoeous!

some of my favorites are the following:

good luck with your choice (:

I love [name]Amelia[/name], nn [name]Mia[/name]!

Some more potential sources of [name]Mia[/name]:

[name]Emilia[/name] (maybe he’ll like this spelling better than [name]Amelia[/name])

Some Italian names I can see with [name]Katelyn[/name]:

[name]Bella[/name] (very popular…)
[name]Gemma[/name] (I can totally see [name]Katelyn[/name] and [name]Gemma[/name] as sisters…)
[name]Gabriela[/name] (popular…)

I love [name]Viviana[/name] and [name]Eloisa[/name], too, but can better see some of the others with [name]Katelyn[/name].

I can also see [name]Isabella[/name] with [name]Katelyn[/name], but if popularity is an issue for you, it’s not the best choice…

Other names I can see with [name]Katelyn[/name], that I’m guessing can be pronounced in Italian (I apologize if I’m wrong!):

[name]Alexandra[/name] ([name]Alessandra[/name])
[name]Emma[/name] (beyond popular, but I can see it with [name]Katelyn[/name])
[name]Julia[/name] ([name]Giulia[/name])
[name]Lucy[/name] (she could be [name]Luciana[/name] or [name]Lucia[/name]…)
[name]Leah[/name] ([name]Lia[/name])
[name]Olivia[/name] (popular, though)
[name]Sophia[/name] (also super popular, which may not be an issue for you)
[name]Sabrina[/name] (close to [name]Serena[/name])
[name]Victoria[/name] (she could be [name]Vittoria[/name]…)

Good luck (and sorry for repeats!)

I can really picture [name]Katelyn[/name] and [name]Gemma[/name]
