My husband and I are expected #3 in just 5 weeks! We have hit an impasse and are hoping for some advice. Our current children are [name_u]Noah[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] (middle names are family names). Middle name for this little girl will likely be [name_f]Grace[/name_f], after my husband’s grandmother.
We have a really hard time with girls names (I find boys names much easier!). We like classic, timeless names (for example, both [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] were in the top 10 in the 1880s!), and clearly popularity doesn’t really phase me. Right now the only name we agree upon is [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], which I like, but I keep thinking there is something else out there I am missing. Names we have discussed but rejected are:
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] (too close to [name_f]Emma[/name_f])
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] (husband doesn’t like it)
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f] (I don’t think it is “the one”)
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] (husband thinks it is too ‘cutsey’)
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] (husband doesn’t think it is “the one”)
Any suggestions you can send my way would be helpful! Thanks!
I do like the name [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], and I think it sounds great with [name_u]Noah[/name_u] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f]. But it’s awfully popular! Some other possibilities might include:
I think [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] would be lovely

[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Theresa[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] (maybe you could use [name_f]Tess[/name_f] or [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Theresa[/name_f])
[name_f]Valerie[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
as Emsky mentioned, [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], sounds wonderful, adorable, pretty, and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is the first one I thought of…
In addition to [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]…
[name_u]Noah[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and

[name_f]Sara[/name_f]
[name_f]Laura[/name_f]
[name_f]Maya[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Bella[/name_f]
Thanks everyone! I like [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], but we have a niece [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] and a niece [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f]! I like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. I’ll show the list to my husband (he seems to be the pickier one!)
Some names in the top 300 in the 1880s:
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] (instead of [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f])
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Myra[/name_f]
And these weren’t popular in the 1880s, but maybe could work for you?
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u]
[name_f]Jillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Ginger[/name_f]
You could go [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] - sort of a combination of [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] - and beautiful paired with [name_f]Grace[/name_f].
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], and you could use the nickname [name_f]Addie[/name_f].
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is beautiful and if you both agreed on it why not? However you wanted more (and I totally understand!) so:
