My partner and I are due to have another babe in [name_f]October[/name_f]. I am already dreading the naming process, as we struggled to agree on a name and really only came up with one at the last moment when our son was born. This little one will have a big brother named [name_m]Otis[/name_m]. Their surname will begin with B and their middle name will be my surname, which starts with M. So names starting with B or M are out for me. Looking for suggestions of any names that seem similar to the following:
[name_f]Jemima[/name_f] has a negative feel for me because of slavery associations. [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] is pretty, but [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] really stands out as a ladylike name. It’s so pretty!
What a beautiful list you have - I love them all except [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]. [name_f]Jemima[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] are among my all time favourites.
Congrats! You have a stunning shortlist, and with [name_m]Otis[/name_m], my favorites are [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]. Other ideas: [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]/[name_f]Delilah[/name_f]: [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] and [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] are gorgeous, charming ultra feminine names. They maintain the ending sound of [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f], and are elegant, like [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]: If you like [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] and [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], then what about [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]? It’s just as substantial and boldly vintage as [name_m]Otis[/name_m], and has lots of substance and beauty. It has the “[name_f]Ag[/name_f]-” beginning, and the tailored, strong feel of [name_f]Arwen[/name_f]. [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]: If you like [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f], [name_f]Jemima[/name_f], and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], what about [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]? It’s feminine, sweetly vintage, and underused. [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]/[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]/[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]: I like each of these names for a different reason. [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is strong and refined, a natural middle between tailored [name_f]Eira[/name_f] and flowing [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is unabashedly long, elegant, and feminine, which I love. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] reminds me of [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] in that it is popular but classic, with gorgeous associations. [name_f]Anya[/name_f]/[name_f]Aine[/name_f]: Underused, short Irish alternatives to [name_f]Eira[/name_f] and [name_f]Arwen[/name_f]. [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]: Stylish, strong sounds, an “o,” feminine, and with a great meaning. [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]: This has the quirk and many of the sounds of [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], the classic pedigree of [name_f]Edith[/name_f], and the beauty of [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]: One of the brightest, most flowy and beautiful names out there, meaning “golden.” [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] maintains the beginning of [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and the “l” of [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], and is just as striking. [name_f]Carys[/name_f]: A unique, beautiful name with a wonderful meaning, [name_f]Carys[/name_f] picks up many of the sounds of [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] while being quite distinctive. [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]/[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]/[name_f]Isadora[/name_f]: I think of these names every time I see [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], because I find them some of the sweetest quirky names out there. There’s also a lot of history and substance behind the style.
You’ve got some strong contenders already. I love [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]. [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] has the excellent nn [name_u]Romy[/name_u] option, and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] could get to Lady, [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] or [name_f]Della[/name_f].
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Otis[/name_m]! Such a cool name. I really like [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] with [name_m]Otis[/name_m].
My favorite with [name_m]Otis[/name_m] is [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]! They just seem so cute together. But all the names are nice and work well with [name_m]Otis[/name_m].
