Recently I have been finding sudden changes in my feelings towards a name.
For example, I used to think that I hated the name [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], but I always thought the extra syllable and popularity made it a name that didn’t appeal to me. Recently, however, I said the name [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] like 3 times out loud and then suddenly realized I love the sound!
Another example is the name [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] for both girls and boys. I used to think it was a trendy name that was NMS, as I tend to love classic and traditional names, but I watched a movie with a girl named [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] in it, and I realized that it is actually a cute name.
Does anyone else experience this? If so, with which names?
That’s happened with a few of my now favourites: [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m], [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m], [name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Cypress[/name_f] (g). And recently it’s happened with:

[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. I used to hate it with a passion, but I have started saying it, and I realise how much I love it. [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] too.
[name_u]Andy[/name_u] (for a girl): I met a little [name_u]Andy[/name_u], and I think it is so lovely.
[name_f]Kitty[/name_f]: Ditto.
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u]: I looked past the person I know with this name, to the actual sound and I realised it is very beautiful.
[name_u]Sweeney[/name_u]: I met a [name_u]Sweeney[/name_u], and she was the sweetest, loveliest girl I have ever met. It definitely made it shed the [name_u]Sweeney[/name_u] [name_m]Todd[/name_m] association for me. Now all I think is Sweet [name_u]Sweeney[/name_u] / Sweetie [name_u]Sweeney[/name_u].
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]: [name_m]Hamlet[/name_m] ruined this name for me, then I realised just how much I loved the actual name.
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]: I just realised the quirky merits of this wonderful name.
[name_f]Constance[/name_f] and [name_f]Clemency[/name_f]: I just think they are ready for use.
[name_f]Hermione[/name_f]: TOO [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m], which is a shame, because I have always loved the name. But I realised that by the time I will have children, this association will have faded. [name_f]Luna[/name_f] too. At least they are great namesakes.
[name_u]Dune[/name_u]: I really used to not get this at all. I don’t know- I think it is wonderful now.

[name_f]Hallie[/name_f]: I knew a girl named this and always thought it was interesting but didn’t pay much attention to it, but lately I’ve fallen in love with it.
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]: I don’t know if it’s too much of the show Once Upon a Time or what but lately I’ve began to think it’s a beautiful name for a little boy, not just an old man.
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]: I always attributed this to [name_m]Romeo[/name_m] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], but now that’s not the first thing that comes to mind. I think it’s a gorgeous name.
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]: Such a popular name and of course everyone thinks of Twilight. But lately I’ve LOVED it!

[name_m]Alistair[/name_m] ~ I always thought it was stuffy and [name_m]OTT[/name_m], {and in my mind I always read it as alice - stair :)} but now I’m swooning.
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u], [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] ~ I saw these names around Nameberry and just kind of shrugged, until realizing that I adore them.
[name_m]Maksim[/name_m] ~ I kind of always just cringed at this name - I didn’t like the way it looked written down, and out loud I thought it sounded strange. Then I was thinking about how I love the nn [name_u]Max[/name_u], but didn’t particularly like any of the longer versions, and I came back to this name and fell in love.
[name_u]Paxton[/name_u] ~ Before, I really disliked this name. Then I discovered that I just love the nn [name_u]Pax[/name_u], and now this name is drawing me in.
And now I’m realizing that I kind of really like [name_u]Quinn[/name_u].
